You really need to stop bracketing sports clubs with the likes of Asda and using this line of argument. It just shows you don't have a grasp of public relations and how they differ between the two. No one on the planet gives a stuff who runs Asda in the same way that fans of sports teams have a legitimate interest in who their coach will be and who will be playing for them next season. It's part of being a supporter. I don't care for example if you start working for Asda or not. Neither would I care if the business pages of the BBC were speculating who the next chairman of Morrison's might be.29wes28 wrote:Dave bottome line is its a company, his company, they are all registered on companies house they all pay tax they all have employees and they all have a product to sell, they all want a profit they all tell the customers as little as they can get away with!
However plenty of people care who our next coach will be because that is what fans are interested in and it is good PR to feed the fans information in a timely manner. Not treat them as an afterthought. Do that and they are less likely to do things like buy tickets for play-off games and spend money at the club.
You don't support a company you support a team. It really is a daft thing to say just for the sake of argument.Personally as long as hes told who matters to him and the people it will effect within his company I couldnt care less if Im the last person to know, it wont stop me paying money to his company nor will it stop me supporting his company.
IL has had his hand forced too many times already to show he does not have enough control over matters to behave as he does. Others affected break the silence and he just looks like he isn't actually in control of the situation. This is a stupid argument that keeps reoccuring, when the time is right it will be released officially when its not the media and social networks and people like you can continue to moan speculate and seive through the rumours.
If the decision has been made on anything they should just announce it and that kind of thing would be avoided. If as Josie tells us Wane is the coach then I am sure the players know so I fail to see the point of any delay.
You are ignoring the fact others release information without paying any attention to him. Souths broke the story Madge was their coach for example and IL had to react. Harris has gone public Wigan is an option.I think we are getting a picture of IL only releasing things when its concrete and when he wants to as fans/paying customers we will have to like it or lump it.
And other teams equally successful have better PR.Incidentally since he has taken over this company has it done better, has it increased revenues, has it turned a profit? etc etc etc
