The lads need to have a good holiday and then start the hard work again.

Lest we forget three of our top forwards have not played tonight - Fielden, Hock and Mossop - I am convinced that they would have made a huge difference.

The problem that I think we face, going forward, is that we need more pace and class in the backs.
Absolutely, especially Mossop - and I'm being biased because I'm from Whitehaven.

A lot of our players seem to be carrying injuries. But, let's be positive: last season No 1 in the League, Grand Final winners etc. etc. this year Challenge Cup winners, No 2 in the League.
The only thing Warrington have won is the Hubcap!!
Roll on next year for a re-vitalised Wigan! The new Coach as only one mission: beat the nasties away and at the DW.

C'mon WIGAN!!! :D :D

Is anyone starting to wonder whether the new coach
will be Wane? The silence from the club is deafening
and I don't have a good feeling about it.

Fantastic effort from the lads, well done.

Never mind, we've had a great 2 seasons :) We've had a SL & CC trophy, be proud of yourselves,
because I am :)

99.9% of the Wigan fans were fantastic as always, the best fans in the world :)

Shame on the few that spoil it but you will always get knob-heads at any club.

Thank you & Good Luck Madge, you've made our lads believe in themselves, brought back a culture to the club that had disappeared, given them & us, hope for a very good future.

Well done Wigan Warriors for the last two years, long may it continue:)

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Joel should have scored, no two ways about it. It is play off football and mistakes like that prove crucial.

With Wire out who are the only team we should have feared we basically blew a chance to retain the championship.

Dave you're getting on my tits.
It's alright claiming to be a pessimist on here so that you have the authority to moan whenever the need takes you. Your argument all season is ; If we lose, well it's not good enough. I imagine that you're of the older generation but Jesus man grow up.
A coach has come to Wigan, instilled theories and practices that have led us to all the major awards in British RL in two years but you still moan and bitch behind the mask of justifiable pessimism. I'll say it again GROW UP!!!!
We have won everything except a WWC under Madge's reign but you're still moaning about the details of an individuals performance just to get it off your chest and just so that, as per, you can have a damn good moan. Well I hope you feel better.

Hear this clearly: Wigan don't need fans like you!!! You're boring, obvious and above all negative every time you post.

Of course you're entitled to your opinion......and so am I!!!!!

Bring on a sentence by sentence destruction of my post, no doubt whinging all the way.
Must be something wrong with me when I come on here and actually defend DaveO (as most know I have had plenty of disagreements with).

However, wind your neck in Kiwi.

I am absolutely sick and tired of hearing Wigan have played x number of games and they are "tired" etc bla bla bla. It is not like they are full grown professionals, dedicated to playing a team sport around once a week during a season. That is what the close season preparation/training camps etc is for.

Now whilst no-one can predict injuries (and I do agree losing Fielden, Hock, Cross and Mossop were serious hammer blows to our pack) you play with what you have. Over the last few months that has not been to a high standard since the CC quarter final. Too inconsistent, players form dropping wildly, subs by the clock (again) over reliance on individuals, little (if any) plan b etc (God this sounds like Noble has returned)

I for one, do agree that this seems to have originated at the same time as Maguires future was thrown into speculation. You can hang me to dry but I am not sure he has been as fully committed to the development and form of his current employers as he would have been, had there have been no approach from Australia for him

The biggest Room is the Room for improvement.

The best form of defence is attack!!

Out of the black and into the red, remember you don't get anything for two in a bed!!

If you appraise the game objectively I can't see how anyone can disagree with this. Professionals playing as you say around one game a week with a fitness and back-room staff we have, have no excuse to claim to be too tired and to be fair they have not done so. It's the fans who have come up with that excuse not the club or the players!

Madges focus was IMO to win the cup. The focus should have been to retain the GF and win the cup but it wasn't and that is as big a reason why we failed to return to OT as any.

Also if it was right to criticise Noble for sticking with his fist choice 17 then so it is right to criticise Madge for doing the same. It has not worked for both coaches and we looked far better in 2010 than 2011 when there was a genuine feeling it was a meritocracy. Madge has left the side in a poorer state than it was in at then end of 2010 but his CV looks good. GF and CC wins - major trophies in his two seasons here but Wane has a tough act to follow because not only was Madge successful but Wane is getting a team that needs some major attention in certain positions and as yet there is no indication it is going to get it.

playing on whilst decimated by injuries, Ok, who were the
players that have been injured?. Did they play last night?
and if so,they would have been pretty fresh, wouldn't they?
since our players have been getting battered all year.

We got umpteen awards last season, the players were not
criticsed then for being bad,so why do it now because we
have missed out on a trophy?.Warrington have been brilliant
all season but have got nothing.Does that make them a bad team? of course not.
Leeds have struggled and they are in
the Final.I'm as gutted as anyone else but when you think
about it these things happen,we can't win everything.

Roll on next year! the season has gone too quickly.
I can think of five players who could have been in the seventeen;
Gardner
Pryce
Eastmond
Perry
Flannery.

We are not a bad team but unfortunately we were not good enough on the day to get to Old Trafford and defend the trophy we won with such style as last year.

Thats why there are disappointed fans on here. :(
