I think we are seeing him in his best position. Hisopportunities to come into the line from anywhere are magnified from fullback.

PM - why this continuous emphatuation with union ? 3 years+ is a hell of a long way down the track so there's little need to add encouragement to a move there at this point in time. Anything can happen in this period - RFL may have money in the pot to pay above salary cap for their top personalities, union clubs may be broke themselves (struggling now keeping their top players from French ru), could be captain of Warriors/England, could have massive influence in media with Sky (& hence future career prospects), could join Madge at Souths, could join the NRL (any other side) with their incoming Salary Cap injection, and so on, etc.

Some pundits claim he's not the build for union (unlike Joel), he's most certainly not their traditional fly half/fullback type + not nearly big enough for centre. He may also be an out & out "Leaguie" & content to challenge himself to the highest degree ; he would be well enough remunerated anyway, if money was to be a problem.

The question you pose as to his best position would not apply in union, whereas at wigan(and england) he's versatile in a number of positions, and not stuck out on the wing trying to keep his hands warm in winter rugby union.
