A few years back, a young lad from Wigan was collecting his Duke of Edinburgh award and the Duke asked, "How's Billy Boston doing?"

My point being that our sport is heavily reliant upon one man, the exposure has come from nowhere and once he goes then where do we stand? It's like a state-run sub-saharan television station about "Mr President".
At least we can try and promote others into the public eye and get some names out there like Ryan Hall, Richie Mathers or James Roby. You don't see other players apart from Morley, Sinfield or Peacock get a look in anywhere apart from local rags.

Billy and the Duke used to drink together at the Red Lion Westhoughton in the 60's

Think you'd have to drag James Roby kicking and screaming to do the sort of stuff Sam takes in his stride. Nothing against him but he doesn't like the limelight, same as lockers.
Sam's a tv natural, comes across well, has charm and charisma. Not too sure if promoting others unless they too had the same sort of personality, it could actually put people off.
