Anyone else sick of Sam seemingly everywhere?
He seems to be on numerous tv shows, newspaper columns he ghost writes, adverts, soup etc etc... does our sport not have anyone else? A bit strange that he started to pop up everywhere once he was kept in League.

Re: Anyone else sick of Sam seemingly everywhere?
It was 'popping him up everywhere' that provides him with the financial incentive to stay in league. The more we see of him, the more chance OUR game has of keeping him since all this supplementary income is dependant upon his being a RL player!

Do nt mind it BUT it is a sad reflection of the lack of stars in SL IMO

I've alluded to this in my posts on other threads are we close to a Sam "overdose" if wigan fans are starting to cringe what is everyone else thinking?ancientnloyal wrote:He seems to be on numerous tv shows, newspaper columns he ghost writes, adverts, soup etc etc... does our sport not have anyone else? Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

It's ok as long as it doesn't affect his form.

At least Sam is a world class player and it makes a change from seeing and hearing abouy Sinfield who is not fit to lace Sams boots.

Only if I was a Saints, Warrington or Leeds supporter!ancientnloyal wrote:He seems to be on numerous tv shows, newspaper columns he ghost writes, adverts, soup etc etc... does our sport not have anyone else? A bit strange that he started to pop up everywhere once he was kept in League.

Re: Anyone else sick of Sam seemingly everywhere?
The Wigan club are just as guilty of leaning on it's poster boys for publicity. Sam is the only real poster boy the sport has with a wide appeal/profile so I have no issue, as long as it doesn't impact on his 'day job'.
At the end of the day, if it is good for British Rugby League, it is good for me as a Rugby League fan.
Like CP says, its a shame we don't have more Sam Tomkins profile players to spread the PR around.

Gareth Bale is front page, middle & back page - don't see any Spurs fans putting complaints in.
Could only happen in RL that it's own fans (whose sport gets very little media presence anyway) can kick up a storm about one of their own gaining publicity & media attention surrounding their game.
As Brian Barwick says on TV, League fans are their own worst enemies at shouting out positivety about the game they follow !
