It's a bit of a different situation thought don't you think?

We got all these youngster in one season, for a few seasons we had 3 or 4 older players and by that I mean over 25. There is still alot of youth in our team and the fact that, that is our team as in our full team says a lot. The team you're putting out for Hudds is not your full team, your normal full team is not that young. Thats Millys choice if he puts out a young team against a "lesser side" No excuses should be made for age right now because even if our team is only aged at around 23 averagely, these players have not just come out of the youth squad, they have been playing with us for at least 3 seasons. In that way, yes they are still relatively new to the game but they have gained some experience from the last few seasons.

Eh? Hansen, Allen, Beswick, Colbon and Melling have either made their debut this season in the first team or had one or two games last season if they were lucky. So they have just come out of the youth squad and Colbon and Melling are part-time.

They are al either 19 or 20 years old and all five were in the 18 man squad v Bradford.

Brown is 21, Tickle 22, Godwin and Aspy (who I thought was older) are 23. True, these last four are "experienced" but lack size simply due to their age.

I think we forget how young some of them are, e.g. Tickle. The fact we think of him as experienced shows how inexperienced a side we have.

I seriously doubt Saints are putting out a squad where their most experienced second row is 22 years old.

I know that. When Saints put out a young team they choose to do so. Our team is naturally a young team, the players we have signed are youngsters. What Saints seem to forget is that if they have a match like a...HMM Challenge Cup game coming up? That they ALWAYS put out a weakened side, oh sorry, they always coincidentally get "serious one week" injuries that prevent their full team from playing.

I predicted 3 losses from 3. Unfortunately I was right.
if things go against us over trhe weekend we will be 9th....9TH!!!!! This is totally unacceptable. We must do SOMETHING!! You can't sack the squad but you can sack the coach

No I wasn't I'm not that old but I am a life time supporter. Same age as King Carney actually and as he says although the good memories are fair distant to us they are stil there. But I'm probably being a bit more realistic than people who can remember "the good old days" Those days will never come back, they will never be thesame, if a team wins everything it's not the same as what Wigan achieved in the past there aren't even the same amount of competitions that there used to be so how can a team be compared to Wigan even if it is Wigan?

How can you doubt their effort tonight, it was there we tried we didn't succeed it's not the end of the world. We're on a confidence low right now, lost 3 games in a row, we should pick up a bit of confidence from wins from Widnes and from the CC game and hopefully build on them, get a few of our regulars back and by the time the next big month comes around we'll be a full team with a few wins behind us.

What will sacking the coach do seriously?

The coach doesn't go out and perform every week, he can only do any sort of magic with the players he has. If we lose Betts, we go out looking for another coach, dyea Anderson will be free soon but what if he doesn't really want to come over here and be at Wigan? What about Gregory, sacking betts and getting another care taker coach would mean sacking Gregory wouldn't it and I thought we weren't legally allowed to do that? We're in a mess in the coaching situation that does need to be sorted out but betts was doing fine as assistant coach, so to go from assistant to caretaker to basically coach and then get sacked is a big insult to such a legend from the club.

Where can I buy those Cherry N White tinted goggles?? This is the worst situation we have been in for 20 yrs!!! Salary cap/20-20/level playing field etc etc...

The only thing that matters as a barometer of performance is league position...

We are in total crisis!!! Betts loses next game and he is gone. I don't necessarily agree but it will happen.

Can anyone tell me where we are going???

Mrs Lam, I fully respect your loyalty and optomism. I am as optomistic as they come, but I am realistic aswel. Thats why I am being pretty negative at the moment, I know we are just not upto the job, even with a fully fit sqaud, we are not in the top 5 sides, even sides like Warrington and London have better squads than we do. Make no mistake, we are in a crisis here, we are playing poorly, and we dont really have the quality to turn it round, we will obviously pick up some wins, but we wont be pushing for honours, no way in hell.

Spot on ChrisA - there is a top group of Saints, Leeds and Bradford and at best we are in a group starting with Hull and ending with Salford. I have been watching this club since the early 80's and we have never been this bad

I agree. I have been watching since about then as well and the fact of the matter is when we have our best squad out that we can get this season (which means all bar O'Loughlin and Hock) we are still way off the pace.

I don't think we will finish in the top six. Wire, Hudds, London, Saints, Bradford and Leeds are all easily better than Wigan.

I think saying that is a no-brainer. It is not being negative but stating a fact.

Then you have Wakefield and Hull. The only reason I left Hull out of the "better than us" list was because we managed to beat them but they were missing key players as well such as Swain.

Salford are playing better than we are and that leaves Widnes and Leigh as the only two sides I think we are better than at the minute.
