For once i am actually happy with the coverage of this game from the bbc (which is a suprise for me) as it is interrupted and i am very happy with it.
But does ray french no anything? when newton got sent off he said we was down to 10 men (asif football) and called moran "kevin moran"
what a fool.
EDIT: Can anybody tell me how dallas did at full-back?![]()

Re: Sounds a good game
got to say wigan played well in parts but really we should have put 70 points passed them,we definitely blew twelve points because players justed dropped the ball with the line begging and one part of the game we had four sets on their line and then knocked on but we also shown some brillance with the stephen wild try,it's just a shame we're still playing games in fits and starts but a win's a win and we have the two points so that's all that matters.

Re: Sounds a good game
We played ok yesterdya, we were far from brilliant, if we had played brilliant we would have put 70 points past them easily, yesterday the were far worse than we were when we got pasted off Leeds nad Saints, they were terrible in defence and we should have scored alot more than we did.pie eaters posted:
i thought Wigan played excellent second time in a row we have scored 40+ points just waqnted to score the 50 but we bombed at least 3 chances for it.i thought newton was our star perfomer tickle played excellent and dallas did excellent once again at full back. It because he as got the speed to go out of the defence and bring it forward so quick qwith the threat of breaking through the line of defence. Tne sin binning was fair i think on terry newton he took him down whilst he didnt have the ball and he could of been hurt by doing this.
But overall we played brilliantly espcially with younger lads out there was no vaealiki or orr but goulding started well i dont think coyle had that good of a game he made quite a few mistakes
Aspy was clueluss again , I wanted to shoot him when he dropped the ball late on when he had acres of open field in front of him. Allen and Wild again proved they are not good enough, Wild has had his chance and done nothing with it, Allen wont even get a sniff next year, Hansen needs to bulk up big time, hes a similar to build to Hock, but hock is alot stronger and runs alot harder than Hansen does, if he doesnt learn how to run straight and bulk up he wont make it either.
Dont get me wrong I'm happy with the win and the score was good, but we could have done alot better, and certian players again showed they are not good enough even against weak opposition like Widnes were.
Re: Sounds a good game
They played well ? well I will leave that one there before I get acused of trying to be-little you, all I will say is they were absolutely pathetic, they scored directly after 2 penalties and an interception, and then right at the death when it was way to late, and yes WIld tracked back well and showed good pace, that is part of my problem with him, he has size and pace but he doesnt want to use it when thaking the ball in, if he ran at full pacew like Dallas does he would be a devastating runner, but he doesnt does he, he never has done. That is why I want to see him out, hes a waste of time.pie eaters posted:
they played very well in my opinion and i was the first one to call wild but he played well yeasterday he chased adam hughes all the way and showed amazing speed
Re: Sounds a good game
I agree with Pie eaters on this one. I thought we played well, and yes we could've scored more, but we won convincingly, and I'm happy with that. Scully try was awesome! Widnes are going down, but I think most of them expected it.
........and on the 8th day, God made Wigan Warriors!
Re: Sounds a good game
I thought we played well in some parts, but they were awful for most of the game. We're still making far too many mistakes though, as Chris said without the mistakes we'd have put 70 on them.
I thought Newton was superb most of the time but still he made some daft errors. He gave them a try with a rediculous pass when all he needed to do was play a short one to whoever was next time him running for a gap. Although I think Newton was committed when making his sin-binning tackle, there was no need for him to make a challenge on the kicker. Our FB and wingers were in position to deal with the kick. I think perhaps the adrenaline from the big hit on Terry O got the better of him.
I didn't think Aspinwall and Wild were as bad as some are making out, both made a couple of errors but nothing atrocious. Allen seemed to have a poor game though, his handling was pretty poor.
Goulding impressed me a lot, nothing outstanding but a good solid performance, shame about the ankle, atleast he had a good run.
All in all I'm pleased with the win but to be totally satisfied I'd have wanted a scoreline reflecting how poor they were!

Re: Sounds a good game
Agree with all of that Rob, Widnes were abysmal, an absolute joke, I dont see how anyone can say they played well. Wild and Aspy didnt do anything wrong as such, apart from Aspy dropping the ball with open field and the 50 point barrier looming. Class players would shine in games like that yesterday against truely pathetic opposition, and they didnt, they havent all year, because they dont have the class to do so. They are mediocre players in a mediocre team this year, next year with Lockers and Hock back and the new guys coming in they will be our weak links if we keep them on, as I've said before they are dead wood and need to be cut come the end of the season.robjoenz posted:
