I think we could definitely be a force next year - a pack of Palaea, Newton (if...), Logan, Fletcher, Hock and Lockers with support from Scully and Tickle, if fit and firing, could well be the best in SL. I hear we have another 3/4 coming, so let's see how the centres look, but a back 3 of Rads, Dallas and Calderwood looks none too shabby to me.

With a fair run with injuries (and a long off season and a proper coach are sure to help there) we should be up in the top 3.
Top 3?! As long as were ok with injuries, we should be no.1 with the line up we have, my friend!
........and on the 8th day, God made Wigan Warriors!

How is he crap? When the season started Dallas scored many tries off his strength and handling skills to put Dallas in the corner a few times, how people have a short term or convenient memory when it comes to players they don't like. When you dont play with good centres alonside and poor field position you would look bad but with Richards, Dallas and Calderwood, (touch wood they stay fit!!!) :conf: hopefully we will see his Paramatta Eels best again and despite all the criticism, he's been out most of the season like many with a long term injury and it's not easy to run smooth when his problem has been with his legs, I may add that you need legs 2 run!!! :D . Give him a chance with better players and a full season playing @ Wigan then criticize him. Everyone didn't criticize Aspy or Wild, may I ask how many they set up compared to Vaeliki?:exc: This has been our problem hopefully to be solved this season with good go forward from Paae'lassina.

Thank you somebody on thsi site as a bit of sense, he as been here one season and had injuries. if everybody got rid of players who had a poor first season then lot of players would go. I dont think he as a had a poor season, if Vaeliki as had a poor season then most of the players around him have been diabolical
No-one denies that virtually the whole team has had a bad season but Vaealiki has been the worst of a bad bunch. Whether it's down to injuries or anything else he's had a very poor season.

It is right he made a couple of nice passes as he drew off defenders away from Dallas but these were very, very rare this season. Similarly, when he bothers to get himself moving he's a big strong lad, but how often did we see him break a tackle, again very rarely.

Steve/Pie Eaters, all you've mentioned is attacking play... you have to consider his whole game. Against Bradford early in the season he scored two tries from good strong play but in the same game he was directly to blame for allowing them in for two tries. Not to mention the other times further up the field where he was out of the line and allowed them through which gave them vital metres. If you watch his posture and movement, there is no urgency about him whatsoever. Everyone runs back into position he plods back behind everyone else. Where other players move in to make the tackle Vaealiki will stand off them. This gives them chance to make a side step in which case he follows to leave a gaping hole in the defence.

If anyone had said that he has the potential to be a decent player for us and he showed some improvement in his fitness and all round urgency then I'm agree with you but based on one very lazy season I cannot!

It's nothing to do with the players around him. Other players have no bearing on how he tackles, how quickly he gets back into the line, how quickly he runs out of line, how he positions himself, how he often runs straight into opponents and falls to the floor.

I watched him in the NRL and he is a brilliant top class player. He as had a poor season yeah ok , but even if he had played well we still would of done as bad as what we have done this season.
I've not had that privilege, I've just watched him this season and he was dire. It probably wouldn't have made any difference if he'd played out of his skin but you want good form to take through to the next season. We've got enough changes taking place this season without Vaealiki seeming new to the squad too.

true yeah . I f he as another poor season this time around then i will agree with the fact that he will have to go becuase he is not living up to the standards. But with him and richards in the centres and dallas and calderwood outside of them both , i am quite excited about the prospect of out three quarter line. I think it is one of the best ones in the league
If Vaealiki pulls his finger out and plays as well as you say he can then yeah it is. Still concerned that we'll suffer if any of them get injuries. A bit disappointed too that there's only one English person in there, we're turning into Bradford or Wakefield with all these 'off-quota' players.
