We should move to the Reebok and not some small cricket ground. It holds 30,000 and so we is big enough for our 20k+ attendances.
Leave the JJb for them soccer fans. The Reebok is a prettier looking stadium anyway and in a much nicer area.

get into europe why have they entered the eurovision song contest
if chealsea win champions leaque and the prem league and united come second latics are in the uefa cup. so come on barca!!! crap i know but whelan is a harsh business man and wont think twice to get shut if latics are rolling in the cash.latics get 25 million off the tv rites alone plus other deals in the prem league

how about we leave the conspiracy theories until something official is actually said instead of jumping to conclusions and getting all worked up over something that isnt definately going to happen

i watch my first wigan game in 1978 aged six! ive watched them all over the world it upsets me to see wigan the way it is today!! we are classed as the 2nd team in wigan.no body fears us any more. their are certain players in our squad who play for a wage and not the honour of wearing the great cherry and white shirt.

I understand what you mean but that has nothing to do with moving to a new ground, being kicked out of the JJB etc. We're only classed as the 2nd team in wigan to those stupid enough not to realise Wigan RL have achieved much more than latics will ever achieve. I dont see them as the second team in Wigan and i'm sure there are others on here who dont. Some players do breeze by in the team, but with Millward here they will soon be shown the door. You cant expect the man to work miracles in the off season, that'd be like trying to transform NL1 champions into SL champions.

If we do move to this new ground, would they call it New Trafford or New central Park? We all know that RL is a bigger supported game and more widespread than cricket which is only played in a handful of countries worldwide.
I for one think we should poll our fans for a new name and not the cricket.

I've never understood this one. WAFC bring in money to the Whelan Empire. WRLFC bring in money to the Whelan Empire. Our crowds are increasing every year and our finances are good. What possible reason has Whelan got to get rid of us? There are no rules saying the teams are not allowed to share. The ground is suffering more from the Latics than us so they can't even criticise us damaging the pitch. We play on Fridays when the Latics don't play, so there are no conflicting tv slots. He's got two teams bringing in money so why on earth would he decide to get rid of one of them? Our operating costs are likely lower than the Latics as well so I doubt we're a major drain on his finances, when you compare our salary cap to the transfer fees demanded by Premiership soccer players.
Whelan likes money. We generate money. Latics generate money. Why can't we exist side-by-side in our completely different sports and keep bringing in the money to allow Whelan to enjoy his life in Bermuda or wherever he lives?

If we do move to this new ground
I thought from re-reading the first message in this thread that even the existance of a new cricket ground was still an proposal rather than something that is definitely going to happen? Us moving to this hypothetical stadium was just idle speculation, we are a long long long way off there being any "if" involved!

i know what your saying but if whelan has to choose he will pick latics every time.if millwall dosent get us in top four this season and a good cup run ie semi final he wont be here at the end of the season.its a shame i like basil but at st helens when he came from leigh he had a good start he had several youngsters who have turned into world class players and built a squad to be one of the best in the world. but at wigan its different. we had the makings to rebuild around certain players but i think they saw the writing on wall and lefted even when some of them moved into the back room staff.cant see us becoming a force again for at least another 2 seasons we might pick up a good cup run but not the super league
