It's a user off rlfans called Pie Eyed who had the scanner.

The Calderwood penalty was given for shoulder-charging the legs of the man in the air with the ball.

Don't even think of saying "you're wrong", because I listen to EVERYTHING that the ref (and the other officials) says on a scanner.

On another note, Kirkpatrick gave us 5 penalties on the trot in the second half (all legitimate), until the 4th official told him just after 60 minutes to "stop giving Wigan penalties - You've given them 5 on the bounce" and was "advised" to even the count up, as it was "psychological" against Cas.

So whoever said that he is not there to even it up - You're wrong (at least according to the 4th official who is telling him what to do and marking him on it.
Now do you beleive me?
Like I said, we lost the game ourselves, but with things like this going on, it certainly leaves a bitter taste.

He's a pretty reliable source. I've not seen him for a couple of seasons but he's never been one for ridiculous rumours and wind-ups.

I believe anything when Kershaw is involved.
I always said he was a rubbish ref when he was on the park,

There's no seems about it.
This is what he was told and there were a few high shots that he didn't give after the 60 minutes.
Every time we lost the ball, knock on.
Every time Cas lost the ball, stealing in the tackle.

We can't blame the ref for everything, but when you hear about things like this, it certainly doesn't help matters.

Never mind sack the board, SACK SCUMMINGS
Sorry mate but it does sound like rubbish to me. For two reasons:

1) The 4th Official is not going to be so stupid as to say this.
2) Kirkpatrick is unlikely to be told how to referee by an NL1 standard referee.

It's a free country.
All I'm saying is the source is very reliable, I've seen him during other games and he's provided insights into what the miked up officials are saying to each other.
no reason to make this up so by asking GMR to contact cummings to discuss with the 4th official should make for interesting listening.
will be phrasing along the lines of. can you ask him to confirm if the 4th offical did actually say blah blah blah. By asking him to confirm, it cannot be construed as libelous in any way as I will only be asking for confirmation.
If this had come from a prepubecent chav then I would not have posted.

I've been doing a bit of digging and I asked a senior member of a local referees society about this incident and whether he thought it would happen. He told me that the fourth official isn't even miked up so cannot pass on any information to the referee.

He was the video referee not the 4th offical.

I hear what you are saying, but what's the point of having a 4th official who is there to se if the ref is missing anything obvious if he can't contact the ref to advise him?
Think it's one for cummings to comment on, but listening to radio, I don't think there's going to be a rugby phone in due to football.

He deals with interchanges and the timings of sin-binnings as well as keeping the coaches in check.
