Re: Tickle and Anderson??
i don't think vinnie realised how hard he had hit tickle, tickle probably just had the wind knocked out of him. i think vinnie thought tickle was trying to get a penalty.
no matter who you are or what you do.... we will always be better than you.....
Re: Tickle and Anderson?? ...
Don't think anyone on here is saying it wasn't legal or anything but the incident did stand out as being a bit weird for the way that Anderson was standing over him barking like a demented half wit, even one of his own players was pulling him away. It seemed to go on longer at the time than it does on the clip above but I just think Anderson had one on him last night as there was another incident he was involved with later on where he just looked like a bear with a sore head.
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.
Re: Tickle and Anderson??
I remember that, But it was not Tommy Martin, I just can't remeber tha Stains players name?, But that Stains player got pay back later in the game when he tried it on again and Scott Quinell sorted him out good style, That Stains player was like a little kitten after Scotty got hold of him, If anyone can remember the Stains players name i would be gratefull because it's bugging the backside off me now.27nowt posted:
Agree totally, last time I saw anything as disgusting as that reaction to an admittedly f air tackle was Tommy Martyn against Rob Smyth at CentralPark. Stains deserved the win but what an improvement. Dobson definitely makea a difference. Still in with a shout of staying up.

I can't believe I have had to read to the third page before someone points out that it should have been a penalty. Anderson was indeed a mile offside!!mickw posted:
maybe legal but for being a mile offside,in rugby league what goes around comes around!

Re: Tickle and Anderson??
Bring back Kelvin Skerret. He wouldn't have stood around. Remember him diving into a punch up only to go too high and miss the lot of them, classic!Wigan_forever19 85 posted:
I was just wondering if anyone knew the answer to one of 2 questions?
1) why after that big hit on tickle was vinnie anderson screaming at him and why did no wigan player go to help tickle by either telling vinnie to shut up or making him shut up?
2) Why was there no mention of tickles dad, who if anyone doesn't know died in Isreal at the age of 42 mysteriously (source wigan reporter)

Prior to the incident Hock shoved Anderson in the back off the ball. Maybe Anderson thought it was Tickle. However, the sight of Danny Orr just standing over Tickle when it had happened was the most distrubing thing for me. I'm glad he's not my team mate :conf:

Skerrit did it after a Wigan try was scored at Central Park, think it might have been against Bradford pre Superleague. Have seen it many times on the RL Bad Boys dvd. He nearly took the front row of the crowd out! :omg:

For me it just shows how passionate these players are and the great team spirit they have for one another, did you see how they all flew in to back one of their own.
Well done boys!

that would be ANDY NORTHEY for saints at central park 1996, he actually meant to hurt smythe (spelling???)Dawber posted:I remember that, But it was not Tommy Martin, I just can't remeber tha Stains players name?, But that Stains player got pay back later in the game when he tried it on again and Scott Quinell sorted him out good style, That Stains player was like a little kitten after Scotty got hold of him, If anyone can remember the Stains players name i would be gratefull because it's bugging the backside off me now.27nowt posted:

Re: Tickle and Anderson??
Sorry about the spelling! It was Smythe not Smyth - that's what beer does to you! Dpn't want to be pedantic here but it's Martyn NOT Martin - put it down the ale again! Definitely TM though, got the video of the match. Important thing for me was the difference Dobson made. As for it being a man's game, agree totally but gloating over another player's injury knocks a player down in my (personal) estimation, Newton inculded (admit we're missing someone with his or Kel's attitude though).
