To all the 'fans' who have replied to the first post.

We all have a right to give our opinion, but nobody has the right to expect their opinion to be the only one that's right! So back off the original poster, and get a life.

We were well beat by a team with greater desire, speed and skill. Wigan did not show the opposition or it's fans any respect, but that's nothing new this year or over the last few years.

As frustrating it is to see Wigan play like they can't be arsed, that is no reason to leave your home town club.

Good to see the emotions and even anger showing up.
Do you think I'd really give up on them just like that - at least we've got some hard hitting comments/
criticism etc coming through.
Facts:
1. We have a team composed largely of Aussie/NZ/GB internationals or England / Origin players. We have one of the best stand-offs in the world. On paper, we have two of the best props. The rest can be good if they want.
2. We have an excellent Academy set-up which has produced great players for decades. Where are they??
Which Wigan Academy player from the last few years (post-Faz) has realised his real potential and become world class - er, no-one!
3. We, even me, are true loyal fans who reach cloud nine when Wigan play well and there are more of us than at any other club.
4. We have a great stadium.

So why isn't it working??????????????????????????

Winning ISN'T everything. I remember going to games in the 1980s when we demolished Warrington or some other outfit. We might have won 48-4 but IF WE DIDN'T PLAY WELL, we weren't happy. When we dug deep
and scraped a win, we were ecstatic. All you ask is that the players show the same passion and determination that we fans do. I honestly don't know if the problem is Whelan/Lindsay/Noble/the team or all of them but we're not getting there. We lost to Stains last week but, for once, had the right attitude and the guts. This week - rubbish. A Wigan team should be better than this - even if they don't win.
Ted again

Professionalism is an attitude. Do we still have it at Wigan. We did have and it bred new generations of players. The Hanleys, Bells, Edwards, Platts, Goodways all dug deep. they all asked more of themselves week in week out. Losing was not an option. So they prepared and lived properly. Many did not drink. When it came to each match, everybody dug deep, everybody worked for each other.

Cats made a break in the second half. Several players walked back. I once listened to Phil Gould talking about how to come back when well behind on the scoreboard. He said forget the crazy fling the ball around ideas. You get back by doing the tough stuff. Running hard. Hitting hard in defence. Kicking and chasing hard. That's where RFL is won / lost. Cats were out on their feet at times in the second half. We could have took them BUT they did not allow it. They refused to roll over and die.

pride & loylty i am on holiday in france the last two weeks in august, but have booked flights from paris to london for the cc final ( may be a bit premiture everyone said) and back to paris to finish my holiday,i was even leaving early morning to drive up through france to get back in time for kick off for the salford game.after todays performance i have lost £212.00.if only the players showed the same pride in our club.but i will now be like them i carn't be arsed kackering myself up to watch a team that treated the importance of today's game to the fans if not for them with sheer contempt and unimportance.SHAUN EDWARDS NEW COACH HE WILL MAKE THEM SHOW PRIDE & PASSION IN THE SHIRT,i will no dougt be slagged off for saying this but i am rapidly loseing confidance in nobby same moves or lack of them evwry week,an inability to change things during a game and if as a coach you carn't get your players up for a cc semi-final then for me your time is running out

CPW I posted a subject a bit ago about us employing a sports phycologist to strenghten our mental attitude. We can raise our game against the big teams but not the lower ones. Somethings wrong :conf:

I must say Noble showed the most passion I've ever seen from him, he really does care about this Wigan team and the reputation it has as he was giving the lads a deserved b******ing at half time.
