That is the problem with Noble.

In 2008 we are no nearer to know if Stanton, Ainscough, Mossop, STomkins are any nearer being SL players than we were in 2007. Nor will they get a chance at the start of SL 2009. Of course Nobby will play them in friendlies but they mean nothing as to how Nobby selects teams. NOBODY KNOWS that is the crime.

Would it have made any difference to play Stanton instead of Colbon on the wing for half the games? NO it would have givem Noble a comparison. Both players an opportunity.

S Tomkins? Well Anderson learned more about Smith / Eastmond than Noble has about Sam Tomkins.

Have to agree with you on this one CP we have a coach who thinks that his established players are a must to play whatever the cicumstances.Like you said he played the young lads in the friendlies and with no promotion or relegation what has he got to lose especially with ILs ambition to play players from our own production line wherever possible. We have Sam Tomkins scored 5 tries in his debut never seen since on the Wigan teamsheet.

Unhappy

After the match, Nobby was apparently 'philosophical' about the defeat and the second-half demolition by the Robins. Shouldn't any good coach be 'gutted' or 'angry' or 'devastated' by that sort of performance? All he did was praise Dobson and Gene. The guy really doesn't seem very bothered when we lose or very pleased when we win.

Most teams know now that, if we played well the previous week (which we did) we'll fall apart the week after (which we did)and our esteemed coach has no answer. It makes being a Wigan fan very weird - when we play Stains will we a) win b) lose by 40 points or more c) play like duffers d) play with skill and commitment. It seems Noble has no more idea than we do. In which case, he has to GO, if not now, then the minute the season finishes.
