You have to give credit to saints defence, though. In the last two times Leeds have played them, they only scored 3 tries. I think they've only conceded something like 12 points per game, on average this season.

Me too Cherrywarrior, it's time to stop defending the guy. You know having met him, I don't believe it's his effort or his ability that's lacking, it's simply performances on the field.

We should certainly have stopped the KFC try; I think there were 4 players holding him up, and he still managed to get the ball down. The Gidley try was a well-taken one; not many people can stop him from that range. The Pryce one was mostly luck, really; pity Pat wasn't at fb for that though, he'd have caught it easily.

To me wigan are playing to orders, if they simply where told to play what they see rather than stick to a rigid pattern we have the playing talent to rip teams apart.

ST is capable of the passes and kicks to demolish defences TL can beat a player with excellent footwork, hock can worry any defence but he needs back up as at times he looks like a frustrated stand off trying to off load

Spot on. The discipline was admirable but it didn't win the game tonight.

Simply:-

If Fielden did his job (justified his £4k/week)
Leuluai and ST did what they've done near the line for years as kids
And Hock just focussed on attacking static centres with the ball in his hands

Unfortunately you make your own luck.

Hampo (the best I've seen catch a high ball) come undone at times and as much it pains me, Pryce is becoming as "lucky" as Hanley used to be in being at the right place at the right time. No coincidence that he was there to score that one. Wellens did a great job of not really trying to catch the ball, but confusing/taking out two of our defenders.

What a crock of Sh**e this thread has turned into, your blaming Fielden for everything. Yes he made a couple of mistakes but you need to look at the bigger picture, if we had a scrum half who was above average we would have won this game. It baffles me how Leuluai got "mom" Lockers bogged it by a country mile!! What did TL offer in attack during this game, nothing. He had one decent break when he should have passed the ball and didnt and put 2 awful kicks in that lead to 2 tries. Until Wigan get a decent scum half we are bolloxed. It doesnt matter if we have a good go forward if we have nobody to guide them around the pitch!! Believe me TL is shite!!!!!!!

He should move on I have defended him many times the fact is he is not nearly good enough,infact I was embaressed for him tonight, he is our best payed player and should be leading the pack into battle, tonight he was the poorest player on the field by some distance!!!! if Ocarol was fit he would not play for me , I would even think of playing Baily at prop as I think Hock Lockers and Tomkins is a much better back three just let Bails make ten and play the ball it seems all hes capable of but even so it's an improvement on Fielden offers.

Mmm I have to say you picked an odd match to have a go at Tommy.I actually agree he is not a 7. He's a 9 but tonight he was excellent because he concentrated on running. I would fine him if he did not run the ball a minimum of 8 times in a match.

Fielden was awful. Jim mentioned his lost ball. Well sorry but I have watched the first and he lost it. He never takes defences on dropping upon impact. On defence he is a liability. He has missed tackles and often gets caught out of position. All this from a player paid a fortune and one who should for his contract be dominant and leading by example. When you are paid top dollar you have to deliver.

I don't think this was an odd match for such comments at all. In fact I'd say this match underlined the comment of yours I have highlighted in bold. My view is perhaps a little less extreme than slinshady's but essentially I think his long kicking game was exposed as very poor tonight. I think he just hoofs it to be honest whereas class half backs have the time to decide where it is going. And the fact he did not pass to the supporting player was criminal for a half back.

He was never MoM at all. Two contenders for me, Ainscough and, wait for it, Lockers!
