A colleague who happens to be a fan of West Brom went to watch his team beat the Latics at Wigan last month. When we met he told me how much damage "your Rugby League Boys" had done to the pitch. He was a bit put out when I pointed out we hadn't played since September! The truth does hurt sometimes though I doubt football supporters are sufficiently sensitive to appreciate that.
Still he got his propaganda nonsense somewhere - probably at Wigan. It's the kind of rubbish that feeds our natural paranoia - that and a 2 match ban for Lima.

So it's all true about the RL hating us, and Eddie and Stevo being biased, and Red Hall being the spawn of the devil etc. etc.
They're all out to get us.
I'm ordering my prozac and ECT now.

(Even true paranoids have enemies! - and don't take any of this too seriously).

Thought the pitch was in great condition during the summer & at the start of the football season.
Down the road at the Reebok stadium the pitch is fine, although they have had their problems in the past.
Time to look at the quality of turf & various upkeep problems I think, not an expert on these matters but I know a man who is!

He'd have had a job because they played at the DW at the beginning of November when the pitch was in perfect shape and to add to that West Brom lost.

In todays Daily Star, reviewing the match between Latics and Bolton in the FA Cup replay, the pitch was described again as "atrocious" and the blame was firmly placed on the fact that the ground was shared with the Warriors and had had too much sport played on it lately.

The continuing lies and misinformation really do "journalists", if that is what they are, no credit.

Wigan Athletic have started to re-lay the pitch at the DW Stadium following last nights FA cup game against Bolton, when once again the playing surface wasn`t up to the required standard of Latics boss Roberto Martinez.

The Latics next home game is against Manchester United in 10 days time and the Latics boss is looking forward to the pitch being in great condition by then.

Speaking about the pitch Martinez said: "The pitch has been a real problem, as we saw again last night"

"The ground staff have tried everything, but it`s been a bigger problem than we thought.

What did I say?? Even tho' we haven't stepped foot on the pitch since September, we are still held to blame

Well it seems he was talking cobblers on at least 2 fronts.
He said his team had won and I can't say I've paid any attention to the Latics. And they'd only 2 months to chew the grass up.
I'll discuss his inaccuracies when next we meet.
