You are wrong to say that no one in the Salford area is interested in Rugby League as it is no different to any Rugby League town or city. All it needs is for the club to get together a good squad of players, win games, do well in competitions and people will watch them like they did in the seventies under Chairman Brian Snape.mickw wrote:The gang of 4 came to wigan because they knew that the wigan public would back em they wouldn't have touched Salford with a bargepole as for London they should be disbanded and rebuilt because they have failed on and off the field since Fulham started,
i wouldn't trust the current club with any money . Salford is no longer rl heartland I work a lot round Salford and no one under 50 is remotely interested in the game football is king,it's not cool to say you like rl down south and that won't change, the structure of sl is a joke as is the international game,
the product is not great to sell . Salford should be giving tickets away but I can't see traditional support and any new media city types watching the same team.
What Salford also need to do is have reduced admission prices and free tickets like Wigan Athletic to draw in the crowds while they are rebuilding and of course get together a match winning squad.
They should also consider a merger with the homeless Swinton club to provide one good club for the whole of the City of Salford and not just part of the City.
