Will have to spit here, but i always thought Anthony Sullivan at saints was rapid.Calderwood is also very fast. But Dallas will be a true Wigan legend.Fast ,too fearless for his own good and always playing for the team ( unlike offiah for me, sorry to upset a few ) We will greatly miss him when he retires.

Sullivan could certainly motor. His old fella looked the same too.

Offiah was even quicker at Widnes but the thing was he knew how to evade tacklers with an awesome swerve. I always believe had Widnes ever reached a Wembley final with Offiah playing for them they would have beaten us. Everybody remembers the Leeds try but he was damn red hot v Cas in another final. A very odd memory cos it's bad is Offiah scoring a hatrick v us at Naughton Park for Widnes to win the league. Miles and Offiah though was a dream partnership.

Interesting that someone mentions Parramatta's Lee Oudenryn beating Martin Offiah in a pre match sprint off on the 1992 Lions tour....a certain Wigan and GB player told me that the Lions made rather a lot of money from betting against Mr Offiah in that contest. If you see the race, he appears to be running without his usual fluency, almost as if he were deliberately trying to lose!!! In the game that followed he scorched past Mr Oudenryn on the outside for two tries...

Offiah was faster than Sullivan - he beat him in several sprint "challenges" that were set up to find the fastest winger.

Whilst not the most fearless or aggressive of players - I think that it is a bit unfair to say that Offiah wasn't a team player - considering how opposing fans used to cheer when he was roughed up, you could tell that a lot of teams went out to nullify the threat he brought by illegal tactics (like northey at saints).

Whenever Wigan were losing in the last quarter Martin would take the ball up in the centre of the field to try and make ground - straight into the heavy traffic, which to me shows commitment.

I agree entirely with the missing Dallas bit - he's been a true legend and we'll really miss him when he retires. I'm really hoping that Calderwood will be the next in the great tradition of Wigan's wingers

Ade Gardner caught Dallas from behind last season and Dallas had 10 yards on him. Dallas strong point is his acceleration, long distances he struggles. Nigel Roy caught Dallas about 3 seasons ago on a straight length of the field run when Dallas was again in front and had the advantage.
Thats twice in the past 3 seasons not bad. Dallas may not be the fastest but on the day i feel he can out run anyone. Gardner may be fast but i do not rate him at all. Rubbish at atackling and evading tackles. Dallas is superb tackler and brilliant at evading. You don't ned to be the "fastest" he may be 2nd fastest but he can evade like no other which makes he the most untouchable. :P

Offiah was very very fast and i think he is one of the fastest ever definently faster then dallas but dallas as better defending techniques as offiah just could not tackle
He did when it really counted. Definatley a big game player.

Sullivan was outpaced by Botica, Robinson and Dallas when NEwlove gave him the ball on their 10 yard line and Dallas caught him on our 5 at the JJB....they scored the next play but it shut the scousers up about Sullivan being faster. I always thought in his prime when they played together Hunte was faster than Sullivan.
