yep..it was obvious that Leeds knew his weakness..they were targeting him all the time, where other teams might have looked at Ashton as the weak link under high kicks, given his youth and inexperience.
Someone said earlier that Rads might find it difficult to get his place at fullback back...I'd
put Rads in when he's fit and play Ashton on the wing instead of Calderwood!

On reflection, we where CRAP, last season we where CRAP !
WE ARE CRAP, we'll be lucky to finish in the top 6 !!!!!!

I guess you're blaming the coach then? You were the one who spent all last season blaming Betts...is it Millward's fault now?

Sorry but Calderwood has yet to prove himself. No sign yet of last seasons Super League's leading try scorer.
Doesn't look interested don't forget this guy is a professional and should have to play 5 or 6 games before he finds his form.

You can be as doomrd as you want, this record is getting boring. I've still never heard why Whelan and Lindsay have got to prove themselves, but then you've never answered any question I've asked. You wanted a new coach, you've got one. Perhaps you could give him 5 minutes to actually do something before you get rid? There are some players that are yet to prove themselves, but what suggestions do YOU have to change things? The same non-existant suggestions as last year, I suspect.
You sometimes make some very valid points, a shame they are usually accompanied by nonsense like this post.

And talking of nonsense, was I watching a different Mark Calderwood to some of you? Good in the air? Who was it making a total mess of taking the kicks early in the first half then, if it wasn't him? Ok, he improved after a while but to shower him with praise is difficult to understand, and his general defence in the first half was very poor. His retrieval of kicks is also not good, there's never really any sign he's going to do anything with the ball when he gets it, unlike Dallas who made a few good runs. Sorry, I'm really not convinced about Calderwood.
Also, all the praise for Moran, despite yet another dire kicking display. 2 out of his first 4 kicks hit other players instead of going where they should, and there were other rebounds later in the game as well. That one near-40/20 doesn't make up for all the bad kicks.
DV was also poor towards the end, he still can't time passes to Dallas very well although his defence early on was very good.
People taking of us being the better team in the first half - I thought we were the better team for the last 15 minutes of the first half but before that Leeds were all over us. Senior unbelievably dropping the ball early on when it was easier to score could have changed the game completely, and we might have been looking at a major hiding.
But according to SportingLife, Millward is happy again with the players. I just want to know why a team that has always been one of the best in defence has, over the last year, lowered the drawbridge for all-and-sundry to just walk in and score points against us.

Totally agree. 16-0 says nothing about what the score would have been had Leeds taken their chances.
We had a purple patch and I think had Moran not kicked for the corner on the last attack of the first half but a bit shorter, the score could even have been 22-0 at half time. It still would have not been a fair reflection on the half. I thought we were fortunate to have nilled Leeds for 40 mins.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves.

Over two games our average is 30 points a game against us. I don't care how good individuals played in patches or the so called first half "performance" but any team that ships 30 points a game as we have done is going nowhere fast except backwards.

I'm only saying what everyone else is saying but in a more direct manner. Just heard Millward on the radio, says "I was very proud of my players, if we play like that every week I will be happy", says it all really does'nt it.
Leeds will not be as good this year as last, only just saw off hudersfield last week, so where does that put us ?.....in the bottom 6 thats where.
