I think Alarmingly poor is a bit over the top.

It's not as though we got beat 70-0 it was against a good Warrington side and the score was only 16-10.

You said O'loughlin bailey and hock had a good game true but don't forget O'carroll !! He was outstanding in that match.

You said barrett didn't create are you blind?

He had a 40-20 in his first kick of the game he went close to scoring numerous times. And anyone remember right at the end with the little chip over the top Radford lost it and Ashton kicked on and Briers just caught it.

On the base of that I dont think barrett is too bad.

As for Millard I thought he looked very strong in defence and it was clear for all to see he was putting in the effort. The reason why he didn't stand out is because he wanted people to be running on the angle which they didn't thus he had to keep going forward and get crumped in the middle of the Warrington pack.

I think the Warrington played better in the weather but I don't think it was alarmingly poor. There was the postives to be taken out the match as I named above. Also you can't rush to that conclusion that were alarmingly poor just over 1 game. It was our first run out as a full team, there was obvious rust there for all too see and the team need to gel which I think after a few more games they will and performances of leuleui barrett , richards e.t.c will improve.

Bottom line chin up Warriors fans it's not all doom and gloom.
Great post, i echo all them words
i also agree, we have to wait a few games to see how the team is doing. why do people have to over exagerate the problems. we didnt performn to our potential but give it time for the team to gel annd the conditions to pick up a bit and see how we are doing then instead of jumping to conclusions too early

People think we will win every game and win the GF with easily.

when we lose its panic time. I cant believe the amount of posts complaining about the game on Friday.

People moan when we have short term solutions to problems. It takes time to build a great side its niot like the 80's and 90's where you can just sign anyone.

Nobby has a 3 year plan. The side will improve and win games we will not win the GF this season were not ready yet. But to panic about 1 lose is just short of pathetic

There were a lot of positive signs in that performance and I have no doubt whatsoever we'll be on of the top four at least this year.

I agree it's frustrating that once again we are having to wait for the side to gel because of the changes in personnel, but as has been said already, we are rebuilding and that is just something we will have to put up with. By next season's start I think you'll see fewer new players coming in, with the likes of Barrett, Leuluai, Bailey, Lockers, Fielden, Ashton etc all signed up well beyond that.

Number one complaint for me, on Friday's showing as well as from the friendlies - Nobby needs to get a grip on the team's discipline a.s.a.p. Don't blame Ganson for messing about at the ruck on ddfence and giving unforgiveable penalties away while in possession by not playing the ball properly.

I think you are being very optimistic there and in saying that I am not basing it on how we played on Friday. It is based on concerns I had before a ball was kicked in that we don't have any depth in the pack and don't have a good goal kicker.

As you say we are (still !!!) rebuilding so I can't see how a side in transition can be expected to get into the top four.

Given the playing personnel we have avoiding being in the relegation fight is where my expectations start.

What I didn't see on Friday was any reason to alter my opinion on those points. It is not impossible we will be 0 from 3 by the time we play HKR given the way Les Cats played and a difficult away trip to the Bulls.

I think there is a genuine issue with the refereeing as Martyn Sadler mentioned in his column in the program but Nobby can certainly do his best to get the team to cut the penalties down.

I agree with Dave. Expecting top 4 at the least is optimistic. We have a decent starting 13 then fall away in terms of quality compared to other teams.

Other teams are getting injuries to key personnel at the moment (Saints, Hull, Wolves). If this happens to us we will be in for another tough season.

Put us in Wolves' shoes. How would we look if we lost our stand off and best second rower?

Backed up by these stats from Ian Laybourn on the sporting life site:
"The first seven matches have produced an average of 24 penalties a game, including 29 in the Bradford-Huddersfield fixture on Sunday, which is almost double last season's norm".

24 penalties average per game is "enough said" (And 23 in the Wigan Wire one for the record).

You obviously think so many penalties are good for the game. Why is that? Because you just have to disagree with us for the sake of it? Obviously so. If not the only other conclusion is you are as thick as two short planks. Which is it?
