But mrs carney, Millard could probably stand up to Fielden as he is (just about) tall enough.

We are making a point of it because Ashton doesn't even come up to Fielden's mid section does he?

Ashton is about 5 foot 7/8 and Fielden towers over him at around 6 foot 2/3, he should not be picking on a kid of 19 and around 5 foot 7 for no reason at all!!!!

Fielden must have had a valid reason to rollick Ashton, although non is springing to my mind.

I don't think Fielden likes things being written about him lucky 13!!!!!!!!!!

Mind you, it does depend on what exactly was written about him and of course where it was written.
Where the hell do you get your stats from Turf? Ashton 5ft7? Fielden 13 stone? Jesus man, these guys are not male dancers! Fielden is around 17 stone! Maybe more. Ashton is about 6ft, maybe 6ft 1 and over 14 stone! Probably closer to 15 stone!

Ashton did look a wee bit chunky on Friday don't you think.

What stats did you get those from, 6 foot 1 and 14/15 stone? Jeez if Ashton was that weight, he'd be dropped by Noble, and he'd look like big Lesley off Bradford!!!!

Jeez, I didn't think Ashton was that heavy OR that tall.

He only looks around 5 foot 7/8/9, but there you go, there are the stats, 6 foot 1 and a half and 14 stone, jeez!!!!!!!

As I have just said, Ashton did look a little chunky to me on Friday against Salford.

Maybe he's bulking up for Union!!!!!!!!!

Yep. Fielden DOES have some sort of problem. Whether it's attitdue or not I do not know.

But he has CERTAINLY been fired up over the past few weeks - on his team mates.

Not always a bad thing.

ive seen the ashton thign and it wasn't just Fielden giving a rollocking, millard did the same on their first try. and you know why that is? because ashton stepped out of the tackle to early before the ref had shouted held and then all of a sudden, coley's arm is free and bang TRY to salford. Ashton's attack is great and it will no doubt be missed, but his defense is weak and careless. on the 3rd try where they did the little chip over, where richards mijudged the kick as going into touch, what did ashton do? make a lame attempt at an ankle tap rather than grabbing the breaking player aronud the legs.

Mind you, Ashton wasn't to know that Richards was going to act as if he had kicked the ball out on the full.

Seeing as we are slating the kid, where was he when Robinson almost scored? Where was the communication with Calderwood that forced a goal line drop out in the first half?

turf, it doesn't matter what richards was gonig to do, the fact Ashton wasn't prepared for the attack is school boy, the luck of the bounce caught richards out, even judging it to go out, ashton should have been ready for anything coming at him.

Are we saying that Ashton should be thinking ahead, i.e, standing at full back and always thinking to himself, "what will happen is so and so makes a mistake? WHat do I do if so and so makes a mistake"?

Don't forget people he is only 19!!!! he has got time to learn before the end of the season.

Give him a chance!!!!!!!!
