Why not just have the bottom 4 teams fight it out with the top 4 from Championship and have the Top 8 teams do a regular playoff system?

Wasn't there a massive flaw where even though there were still a few games to go, some of the teams outside the 4 couldn't make it into the top 4 and therefore just had to play games for the sake of it? Just seems idiotic.
Even if you have only be following SL for the last few years you must have noticed there is a big gap in ability between the sides that are regularly at the top and the rest?

This means top 8 straight playoff or S8's, everyone knows the ones lower down are making up the numbers.

There is also a pretty big feeling around that if all you have to do is finish 8th to get another crack just what is the point of the twenty odd games before?

When excuses for poor performances in the regular rounds are made along the lines of "It doesn't matter, the aim to to peak at the right time at the end" then fans here start thinking the same and they may as well only turn up for the end of the season as well.

Not season ticket holders perhaps who having paid have an incentive to go to games but those who otherwise might attend more regularly.

It obviously works in Australia but I don't think it has ever been fully accepted here not helped by the regular change of format.

Another 36 on Saturday.
It's like going back to when we had one trick Mick at Wigan. It's the most one dimensional form of rugby. Who's had the better season, it's the team playing for the World Club Championship next February. John Monie once said "Great teams aren't great all the time, just when they need to be"
Usual nonsense. When they need, you mean a CC win every season. Oh dear that does not fit you idiotic us of a quote. Even more idiotic is to mention a class act like Monie who never whined and attacked fans like Wane & Tomkins. Keep trying Rogues.

If the object at the beginning of the season is to play attractive rugby, get to both finals and lose them both then they certainly had the better season. Yes our rugby at times was dire to watch but I bet the Warrington fans would rather be in our position. You've made yourself loud and clear that you don't rate Wane and it must really stick in your throat that come the business end of the season, he and the players produced the goods.
