I've played them all and never found hooker to be anywhere near as demanding as prop.
I agree, two hookers are picked for versitility and an attempt to change the tempo of the game rather that it being too physically demanding.

I dont think newton bottles it
Hes played 4 GF and lost in all of them. And in none of them did he even play well. Maybe hes been unlucky but look at Higham's record in finals.

I think thats a bit harsh, i'm pretty sure that if Newton would have played well his team would have still lost. Especially the two against Bradford.

Granted the one were we where hammered by the Bulls yes wed have lost, but in the others he was poorer than his usuall week in week out games.

Neverthless his record is 4 GF no wins. And in all he was playing under par.

 Hate to admit it, (bites lip), but IMO Wigan have signed one of the best hookers in SL and more importantly he is only a kid, with many seasons ahead of him to better himself.
Newton DOB 7/11/78
Highham DOB 18/9/80

You are getting confused with Stevo always referring to him as 'veteran Terry Newton'
 Sorry, but dont recall ever mentioning anything regarding Newtons age, (you are welcome to correct me if i am wrong).I simply stated that IMO you have signed one of the best hookers in SL and that at 25 years of age he is still a mere "whippersnapper", who, with the right coaching, will only get better.(And who better than Millward to bring the best out of him). As an ex-hooker myself, i was a fan of Newton, but the stark-reality is, he does have a problem with his discipline and will not win any matches for anybody whilst sat on the bench will he? "Top move by Wigan"!
