Thornley and Gelling are worse centers than Goulding right now. If they get better great, but they haven't done so far.

Neither will become an Iro, Inga or Carmont IMO.

We need better quality than hoping unproven players will suddenly develop. Where were we when Moon was available?

you talk about average players then say Thornley and Gelling will do the business, them two are still striving to be average.
how many games has Gelling had since he's been here, not that many, remember if he wasn't getting first grade games he wasn't playing, i'd like to see how Goulding would have done under the same circunstances, just face facts, you and others are wrong about Goulding, if the club don't think hes good enough for the money hes on then he isn't, next year will show how average he is and many won't be impressed
The club do think he's worth the money he's on, as they offered him a new contract. They mustn't think he's worth
what HKR are prepared to pay him.

As for Gelling, he could play hundreds of games at centre and he still wouldn't be as good as Goulding, in my opinion of course.

Memory plays tricks. Renoulf was well over the top on arrival at CP. as were the Wigan forwards as Saints started their battering, and Wigan speeded into the decline spiral.

Young Mick or owd Mick Nanyn, at least we'd have a good kicker but owd Micks carrying a bit of a keg around under his shirt these days.

Rads is a yes man / a lacky. Plenty to say before being given a job, NOW nothing of merit.
I agree. I respected Rads as a player but he is just a yes man to Lenegan now.

:)

Thornley still has a lot of potential and started off the season very well. He is much more of a centre than Gelling or Sarginson imo and would be okay as one centre. As for the other we desperately need a quality signing.

As for Goulding he signed for Hull KR some time ago so its hardly a shock but still disappointing to see it confirmed. He is a quality centre and I dont think the club should be letting the best centre at the club go. Hull KR have got themselves a very good signing.

If what you mean by CP was Central Park, Renouf signed for us when we moved into JJB.
And I would also take "the pearl" at that stage of his career than any of the players we have at centre at the moment

Thornley is the only genuine centre remaining once Golding leaves. Sarginson (for me) is a full back/wing and Gelling is a stone underweight from being a fantastic second row- however with us being blessed in the second row department it seems Gelling is being pushed towards being a centre.

I hope Gildart is not rushed. He is a fantastic prospect but he needs looking after and allowing to develop.
