Maybe go for James Tamou or Martin Taupau for one season just for that experience and use 2024 to target a good replacementNICKYKISS wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 6:12 pmIt needs sorting and fingers crossed it will be. The club are being quite open in saying ‘there’s more to come’ regards new players. We need an experienced prop and an experienced second rower, to add to Keighran (and the 3 announced already). If we can start the season with an experienced prop, Byrne, Ellis, Havard and Walters in a 5 prop rotation, that will do for me, especially with Cooper to come back. I very much doubt Mago will be here.nathan_rugby wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 5:54 pmIt doesn’t because we have…Blackpool_Pie wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 5:39 pm
Nope it's not, but I replied to what you said and it kind of debunks your theory
Granted Chan and Walters may come through, what we are lacking is proven experience and not project players.
Cooper, Mago, Ellis - they are our 3 most experienced props for next year. This is my issue and point.
We have Havard, Byrne and Hill as our younger props…
There’s an imbalance imo.

We need a stand off if keighran plays centre. If hes a decent stand off then retain King.Im now convinced Cust wont be here next season as peety has obviously no confidence in him at 6

King is already confirmed as going back to Wire isn’t he?Firestarter wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 10:28 pm We need a stand off if keighran plays centre. If hes a decent stand off then retain King.Im now convinced Cust wont be here next season as peety has obviously no confidence in him at 6
Aren’t Chan and Keighran quota players? If so two of our current quota players are leaving so that’s odds on Cust & Mago I’d say. Miski has another year, Field and French are not leaving so is there anyone else who is a quota player who won’t be here next year if we are bringing in anyone else from overseas? Isa?

I wouldn't be surprised if Mago stayed.

I don't think it's a case of Peett not having no confidence in Cust but he's seeing what we are seeing he either isn't fit or his confidence is shot through and as Peet is growing into the head coach role these decisions are becoming easier to hand out.Firestarter wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 10:28 pm We need a stand off if keighran plays centre. If hes a decent stand off then retain King.Im now convinced Cust wont be here next season as peety has obviously no confidence in him at 6
And yes I'd be amazed if Cust is here next year shame because untill he started to pick up injuries he and Smith looked a balanced pairing
