I dont phone my relative everyday to ask what little things the boys have all been laughing at during training but if you want I can contact him now and ask what they are having for tea tonight. Also ask how there swim went before tea hey? Or should I ask them who spun the wheel this week at training or how the table tennis comp is going?? They all had a little laugh when the names were picked out of a hat!!

Its not a competition about who know the most? You seem a bit sad and lonely without much of a life. I just came on here to disprove your knowledge of wages and I dont believe you ever got consent to publish your sources info on here but I will find out.

I also dont think I ever mentioned that I know alot about rl or the salary structure. Again you have dreamt this up! All I know is that your way off with your salary statements regarding a couple of players.

Why are you so pompous? Did I ever question your rugby knowledge?? No , just your facts regarding players wages. I will do my research on you and look forward to a chat with both our sources regarding wages.
:D You started throwing personal insults. I was just trading explanations/facts/views. You seem obsessed with know who or how I got my information. It is not going to happen. Nobody knows who I get my information from whilst it is from several sources which renders digging pointless.

I don't care who knows what or how. You tried to score points saying X, Y, Z are on the bench and I just knocked it down by saying its not hard to find that information out. I don't even care about half the information I print. It is inconsequential.

However, the salary cap is 1.6 million you have to divide that money up. My understanding is that the cap is now shared more across the squad with still very little for those outside the top 20. The figures I have quoted fit that pattern. If you gave 16 players £100,000 each that would be your cap gone. So it figures that most players are on less than 100K, significantly less. I don't see why you have a problem with this? If we gave 32 players £50,000 each you would not have a squad with good enough players. So the answer lies between the two extremes. So why do you have a problem with claims that player X gets 70K, player Y 80K ? You then say thE top earners have not even been mentioned which A) contradicts your previous view that players do not disclose salary information and B) meabs certain players earn well above £100,000 which makes the salary cap unworkable. Can you see why I trust the maths from my sources compared to yours?

So until you explain yourself and back it up I will believe sources that I trust. It's nothing personal but they have a track record over 5 years whereas you have nothing with me.

Cp - your wrong about the wages. I can prove this to you and your source but you refuse my offer to meet. Do you understand that me being a relative of a player perhaps puts me in a position where I might know a little bit more than you, especially regarding wages. Anyway I am sick of this thread now. If you ever feel like meeting with your numerous sources :conf: to discuss it further please contact me by way of private messaging.

Just heard the boys have taken the table tennis table with them to the hotel, it caused much laughter getting it on the bus :D A quick tip, my money is on Paddy to win the competition

SW, sources exist because anonymity is required. They get people like myself or any Joe Bloggs they trust to publish information because nothing can create problems for me. For them, it is very different, anomnymity is necessary.

Very simple question and I am genuinely interested. No names required. Post the 5 biggest contracts at Wigan in 2010 E.G Player A = £200,000 ETC

Are you mad? Do you think I am stupid? If you can work the salary cap out so well then with any figures I give you, you will put names to them. The one thing I dont want to do is out anyones wages. I only know approx figures for the big earners and you might be suprised at who they are. I do know the exact figures for my relative - he is not in the top five. Thats as much as your getting! Why do you want to know, I really do think you have a genuine interest but why? Anyone related to a player knows that its more than their lives are worth to put any info like that on here. I can put team news on etc but thats all.

can't a mod just delete all the petty name calling and accusations but maintain some sense of debate around the topic of salary cap!?

i like the salary cap. i like these kind of controls and restrictions in sport in general. back when i was at uni i did my dissertation about it.

i'm not too interested who earns what at the club, especially as we are doing so well and all the players who get picked each week deserve whatever pay they are getting. when we were inconsistent the (limited i would suggest) knowledge we fans have on what players earn only served for another reason to have a go at them, but for every penalty coley gave away or yard fielden didn't make my issue wasn't they weren't fit to earn the cash - it was they weren't fit to wear the shirt.

my concern with the squad regarding the cap is staying under it! we have for a couple of years and should be grateful of it.

Thanks mate. I didnt come on here to cause trouble but when something is staring you in the face as being a blatant lie I felt the need to correct it. I read a lot of things on here that arnt true (and a lot that are!) but have never felt compelled to come on and argue like that as my family bias would make me look like an idiot. Also some of the criticism directed at my relative has been fair in recent years.

The thing that made me mad was when he said just let me check and then came on quoting innacurate figures. I would have happily proved him wrong and spoke to his source to just check he knew exactly what was being put on this board. I think he/she (the source) would have been horrified.

I was a bit shocked that the thread got locked but realise it must have been because of connections! Ah well .This one probably will too!

Just a quick update for CP - the boys played table tennis in doubles last night - much fun was had by all!
