Brown was lined up for Wigan but Widnes started offering a much bigger transfer fee and a better salary.

I am glad we missed out personally.

TBH, I was upset when he left. He was a hero of the famous Good Friday game and I never bought into the '2nd season syndrome' BS. But he went and is long gone. I've no doubt he would do well for us but I just think we can do better now!
