If I had the money I would finance the Championship clubs that the RFL shafted too.

So let me get this right Flower gets sent off for retaliation (2nd punch not acceptable) in the 2nd minute of the GF and we have to play 78 mins 12 men. Then he kops for a 6 month ban approximately 12 game. Then we have LH who runs 30yrds to smash Flower in the face with his forearm and and not sent off( but was carried off) and receives only one game ban.

A few weeks ago we had one if our players punched in the head 3 times without provocation and throws one punch back after being hit 3 times and in self-defense and both players get 10mins and the attacker then gets banned for only 1 game

Go back to last year's Grand Final and one of our players get punched in the face while lying defenceless on the
ground sustaining a serious facial wound and the attacker
gets left on the pitch to play the rest of the Grand Final. Then he only gets a 3 match ban for an punch that broke a players cheek bone.

So if I've got that right it means that the RFL are anti Wigan and a f$%#?ng joke.

I have been sickened by the frequency of the video replays on sky sports of this incident. It's a pity it couldn't have been accompanied by some sinister music. It has been invariably shown in slo-mo rather than real time together with commentaries that have heightened ill feeling against Flower. Had a court case ensued, it would have been thrown out because of the prejudicial effect on the accused.

As is usual with the RL Disciplinary, the committee has not felt itself to be bound by its own precedents but has responded to the expected outcry in a totally disproportionate way. If the committee needed to be reminded, this is a contact sport and punches get thrown. It looked very bad and, indeed, was well worthy of the red card it earned but, come on, six months! Get real!

Try finding LH's offence in the RFL guidelines
http://media.therfl.co.uk/docs/On%20Fi ... -Final.pdf

The only suitable charges are of a much higher grading

As a Wigan fan, I expect to be vilified for this post, but it is my view of what the RFL faced.
I live in Harpdenden, a rugby union town like no other, albeit with Andy and Owen Farrell in location.
When Ben threw the second punch, it was met with sheer horror by all in the pub I was watching in. I had to deal with comments like, "Is that accepted in RL" for the entire evening. There were genuine screams from some viewers at the time, and again at half time.

So, how could the RFL mitigate the nations view as detailed above. A simple 9 game ban had no chance. It had to be a duration.
The RFL mitigated the impact on Ben, and maintained the games image in this ruling.

Sorry to say to all those who believe that the RFL hate WIgan, they don't, but they have a hard position to manage after the weekend.
I am just pleased, as is SW that Ben will play a major part of next season, as he should.

Short or not, this is the current view or RL we are discussing.
