He has stipulated that the key to Saints success is the backbone of their team, what an earth shattering revelation! The question is, has this always been apparent to him or has he just woken up? If it is the former then why has he not developed our team in the same way, he has consistently changed the fullback, half-backs, and hooker. If it is the latter then I dispair!
Saints success over the last few years has always depended on a hard working front row, two half backs that can take advantage of the space they provide, a quality 'outside' centre that makes and scores tries, a skillful No 13 whose ball handling skills complement the half-back pairing and a fullback that chimes into the threequater line to make an overlap. RL is not rocket science it is a simple sport that looks easy when played by good players that are motivated and coached effectively.
You have hit the nail on the head SEFC. How has our leadership of the past decade failed to see this!?
Wellens, Long, Cunningham and Sculthorpe have never quite made it to World Class status but keeping them together for the best part of a decade has certainly got them close, and given their Team the core, stability and heart that we can only dream of.

So that core took ten years, first seven were the Bradford years, and Noble is supposed to replicate that line in two years, Get real, Wigan is o the way up StH will pass them soon on the way down,

Bradford was made by Peter Deacon, Brian Smith and Matthew Elliott. Carl Jennings was even more important than Brian Noble. Having inherited a fantastic legacy, Noble left a poor legacy behind.
No reason for Saints to go backwards. They are managing a period of bringing young players through very well and have a history of making astute signings. Gidley and Puletua. People are rightly questioning our club in both these areas and see the Bradford legacy left behind by Noble and worry far more.

Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan on Sunday paid tribute to coach Brian Noble for masterminding his side's biggest derby win for six years but declined to offer reassurances over his future.
"The position with Brian is exactly the same position as it's always been".

More wishful thinking.
Noble always moves on once he reaches his goals.
GUARDIAN SPORTS HEADLINES:
"Brian Noble takes up new position as Newcastle Nights Head Coach, after sucessfully leading Wigan to a fantastic Grand Final win over St Helens today".
And we would all wish him the very best for his future.
