question for nobby...
What is you see that the rest of us don't when it comes to your use of subs? Is there a rule that we have tomake the same changes at the same time regardless of what is actually happening in the game?
Every week you take away feka and higham roughly mid way through the first half.We lose speed from the play the ball as my garden shed moves quicker than millard and we lose the yards and impetus that we get from Feka.
The hooker i simply cannot understand the need to change at that time, millard kills the game. The prop situation is scarry.
How long will it take to either get Feka fit enough to last longer or how long will we wait for him to be allowed to stay on longer?
That short stint in the second half was embarrasing, Super Kelvin lasted the bulk of a match and suffered from asma (spelling?) for gods sake.

Fair point but will we ever get an answer? No 2 son wants to know why Noble was supposed to be the best coach in Superleague for 5 years but then comes to Wigan and turns into a numpty. Another good question to which I also do not have an answer.

As far as i know Higham also suffers from asmha, which could be the reason he cant last the full 80consigliere posted:

yes he can, he played 80 a few tiems last season, and his best games were when wagga was injured and he had play 80 minute games.

Not suffering from Asthma, I cannot either understand the problems it gives sufferers, nor the problems you have to deal with, either in a sporting or work capacity. Having said that, Higham is not the only sportsperson to play with a dilapidated condition, Skerrett as previously mentioned in a post, achieved a high standard without much of an impairment to his game. I recall a Wire forward (Mark Roberts I think), coping with diabetes late on in his life whilst still playing, but he still managed to play a good amount of game time.
All this was before the introduction of 4 subs and interchanges, and I believe conditioning is only fixed for certain players to only have short sharp burst on the rugby field at a time.

In regards to FEKA
Nobby knows that its a tough easter program and doesnt want Feka (one of the or the best wigan forward atm) getting too tired for the big game on Tuesday. It's hard a forward like feka to play 50+ one week let alone in a derby then again at leeds 4 days later.
IMO Feka should start the game and end it with spells on the bench inbetween obviously.
At the moment though we seem to be playing with just 3 props, all good teams such as Bradford always have a player that they can call upon if in bother but with Wigan we have, Feka, Fielden and O'carroll (people may argue about Presscot but the lad needs to work on his fitness)
I thnk we need another Forward who will either step up a gear and is already in the 17 or younger player to break through, Presscot if his fittness improves if we want to be Super League contenders

But it's not just the Easter games; he always plays less than half the game. As I mentioned, he's averaging only 38 minutes per game over the 8 SL games so far. That's nowhere near enough.chrisJJ posted:

I'd like to see something like 15 mins at the start of each half, and 10 mins at the end of each half.

Don't agree with that at all. :conf:chrisJJ posted:

Why would Noble save Feka for tuesday when the Saints game was such a big one for the players and fans. Why not save him at Widnes and then let him play longer on friday. IMO Nobby doesn't use the interchanges when they are needed, he changes them when it is simply the other players 'turn'. Especially with Millard and Higham. Higham shouldn't be coming off after 20 mins. He should at least play a half. I don't see the logic in that when everyone can see that the pace in the game drops when he leaves the pitch.

I dont know why you are knocking Noble. He kept you up last year and the last thing he needs is critisism.
He is building a platform for better things, and whilst indivudual selection may be an issue, he knows the score
