im getting quite sick of stevo and eddie....

Post by - psycho - »

... chirping on about lee briers for britain.

GET REAL

why can't people see that lee briers is a cast off, he's a wanna be, he'll never play for britain, id prefer ganson to be scrum half before he is. i watched his game against saints, and his game against leeds closely and he is just terrible!!

week after week, stevo and eddie "briers for britain campaign", SHUT UP. im getting quite sick to the teeth with it because he is a poor player! he can't tackle, his leadership skills and general play is awful, i mean can you see the look on australia/newzealands faces? they'd laugh at us!! he's a joke and if this wasn't a board id be saying alot more, those would probably get me in a bit of trouble.

everyone says oh his kicking game is fantastic, oh yes amazing. NO.

jordan tansey kicked a 40 twenty last night for a second week in a row. brier's attempt went straight out on the full and didnt even reach the 20! he got out kicked by a winger/centre!

i was speaking with my dad about it and how they go on about it, yet rob burrow hardly gets a mention! yeah he's small but he'd scare the crap out of me if he was running at me because off the mark he's probably the fastest in super league, and his height is such an advantage, he can just duck under the would be tacklers and bigger forwards. id much rather see burrows for britain, deacon, robinson, the list goes on!!!

noble had a meeting with cullen and briers last year towards the end of the season about britain, ha!!! i bet brian left that meetin wetting his sides!!

shut up stevo, shut up eddie, wake up and smell the coffee, briers is s***e

We've covered all Briers bad point, however, you've neglected to mention his good points.

When he plays well his kicking game is brilliant, he is probably the most unpredictable player GB could pick. You never know what he is going to do next when he has the ball and it usually something creative. That is where Eddie and Stevo will be coming from.

The only problem is whether he'll have a good game when picked, it's possibly too big a risk to take but he's worth including in the squad. If he trains well then play him!

Britain don't want unpredictable, they want somebody who they know will do well in everygame.

If Briers had some of the Aussies and Kiwis running at him, he'd run the other way.

He's a load of rubbish and his attitude stinks. He has to put his mouth in everything that goes against them at a game

Ohhh he really winds me up, if theres anybody i don't like apart from Sean Long, it's him

I would prefer Ray French to the the commentary equivalent of cannon and ball!

Briers plays well when he doesn't have to defend to much - if he has to make more than a couple of tackles then he soon disappears from the radar. I dread to think what an Aussie or NZ test side would do to him.

Wire have surrounded Briers with some good players this season and they have massively under-performed.
"And Martin Offiah, trying to make some space, now then..." - Ray French, Wembley 1994

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

Unpredictable is exactly what GB need against the Aussies, how can they beat them if they play someone like Deacon who you know will do the same kick each time on the 4th or 5th tackle. Briers on the other hand may kick for space, he may do a little chip for himself, he may face one way and kick the other, he may dummy a kick and run it. Much less predictable.

Does no-one remember the match between Wales and Australia where the Aussies got a bit of a suprise? That was Briers. He raises his game for the big games, he destroyed Wigan last season with 4 drop goals, who would have predicted that? Wigan didn't know what to do with themselves... charge 'another' drop goal down, but that leaves a gap in the defensive line... hang back and, oops there's another 1 pointer... unpredictable is good!
