Favourite Wigan Memory ...

Post by 100% Warrior »

Now we have no more Warriors games to watch until next season I thought it would be interesting if people gave their favourite Wigan memory.

It could be a match, a player or even a funny moment ...

My favourite memory was when I attended the 1995 Premiership Final with my Dad. He had got some tickets for the game due to the firm he worked for.

However, when we took our seats at OT we noticed that the area where we were sat was full of Leeds supporters, therefore we decided to keep our coats on.

When kick off arrived and the teams ran out, me and my dad chucked off our coats and revealed our Wigan shirts. My Dad shouted "Come on Wigan, you've got now't to beat !!".

It was hilarious seeing all these Leeds fans gawping at us. Even funnier was later in the game when Leeds were being tonked we heard one guy say to his mate "I've had enuff o'this, I'm goin' t'pub".

Excellent !!

This might sound a bit mad but, challenge cup 98 against Sheffield!!!!
I know we lost but I remember walking out of the stadium after we'd stayed and clapped (and were slowly coming to terms with the fact that we'd lost to SHEFFIELD!) and we were with a group of lads who were singing 'we're so sh** its unbelievable' obviously just messing around.
It was a gorgeous day though and everyone was in a good mood, id been watching people play cricket near my car and me n my cousin were dancing on a lorry.

Someone tell me how we lost to them :D

I know it's probably going to be a favourite Wigan memory for a lot of people this season, but my favourite memory for this season has to be a certain match on Good Friday when a lot of the media wrote us off against the Stains. An entertaining game and a great afternoon.

Favourite memory of all, last year's Challenge Cup when we were written off against the Stains.

too many to pick, but a few years ago at central park when gary connolly stole the ball off
(i think it was naylor) against bradford and scored a try. we beat them 14-0. it was a bit close for comfort till then. the funniest has got to be the streaker had headingley. the stewards could'nt catch him so he was playing with them, jason robinson got sick of it and tackled him good style.

My favorite memory is of Martin Offiah Running the length of the pitch to score in the Challenge Cup Final 1994 against leeds, great try.

Also Last years challenge cup final that was sweet, being the underdog in a final for the first time in years and winning.
