St Helens prop Jason Cayless will miss the Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-final with Bradford on Saturday following the death of his mother Marlene.

Purely in terms of the match this is a huge blow for Saints. He is their best prop by a mile. They may have to play Maureen more than 20 minutes, therby massively reducing his effectiveness, plus their quality will plummet when Hargreaves replaces either of the starting pair.
