Do you think that the RFL should show some consistancy, ie in line with limiting the amount clubs can pay its players.
It also limits the admission fees the clubs charge us the fans.
This would be in the sprit of the game and prevent some clubs raising the admission fee when the bigger clubs come to their grounds.
It would allow clubs like Wigan, Leeds and Hull who offer better surroundings and facilities to compete with the others who provide jack shit and charge you 30% more.
Discuss.

Re: IN THE SPRIT OF THE GAME
simple as the rfl need to raise the salary cap to at least 2 million. then you wouldnt get the teams like us,leeds, hull, bradford who offer a good franchise and get good attendances week in week out getting held back and only allowed to spend 1.6/1.7million. its pathetic.

50% of all income no limit is the only fare way forward ,gives you a chance to go sell your club ,and as we have the biggest selling name in world rugby should be able to attract plenty of income ,does any 1 outside of lancashire and orkshire know were wakefield and huddersfield is

Re: IN THE SPRIT OF THE GA...
It would be interesting to know how many attending RL matches are paying? Free away vouchers for juniors which I agree with seem to be giving a false impression re crowds. The only instance when we know everybody has to pay (cup games) suggests the actual paying crowd may be somewhat lower.
Re: IN THE SPRIT OF THE GA...
Mike I agree the only clear and simple way is 50% of income on salaries, as long as you can guarantee your revenues get on with it.
This would allow investment and expansion the opposite from the current theme.
LIMITING, limit wages, limit vision, limit investment, limit advertising, limit our profile, limit aspirations and most damaging of all limit dreams.
What is the RFL message ?, in our hunger to teach Wigan RFLC a lesson we we limit our sport into obscurity.
Unless they are stopped history will read professional RL. RIP 2007.

Morph the man to answer your question, who allowed the London Broncos to go bust may just well be Mr Lenagan.
Hence the RFL being vauge and unclear if he will be able to own two clubs.
After all he will have the inside track on the biggest scam and cover up in recent RFL history and own the very club they want to drive into the ground due to their petty vindictive mindsets.
Popular myth in the spirit of the game we will blow 3 million pounds on an Aussie old boys retirement fund in an area that does not know Rugby Leauge exists.

Morph I dont think he was there at the time however he will have been working with those that were and would know what went on.
But how about this to ponder on, Wigan alledged 222k over cap, = 4 points deduction and attacked from every section of the rugby community press, sky, fans,RFL media etc.
London broncos 3 million over = not a whisper, Cas your barking up the wrong tree.
In the spirit of the game, they have not got a clue.

Re: IN THE SPRIT OF THE GA...
gpartin what planet have you been on ?.
A couple or three seasons back London Broncos were trading insolvent with debts approx 3 million pounds
This happened even though they supposedly opperated within the salary cap which prevents sides going skint.
The RFL decided to bale them out, so if you asume they spent 1.6 million on salaries and recieved financial support from the RFL OF 3 million thats a lot of money to keep queit about.
Question did Eddie,Steveo,Clarkey indeed anybody mention it why ? because SKY TV want a team in London, the RFL did what it was told and kept them going how on earth do you justify that not only to SL clubs but the rest of NL1 NL2.
The spirit of the game is not in the rules it is a convenient phrase used to try to justify RFL actions against Wigan in the abscence of any proper written rules or agreement
