O'loughlin as El Capitano

Post by - psycho - »

right, im not being funny, but he isn't captain material. he doesn't set an example for his toher players and he doesn't do anything!

he stands there supping from his bottle under the sticks and he says NOTHING.

he isn't andrew farrell but surely he should no when to get his finger out and start blasting people.

Just look at briers (painful i know) but he is a great captain! he leads the team round, he gives out instructions, he fights his teams corner! as much as i hate him, he possess all the qualities a captain should.

I think he does lead by example BUT unfortunately with this present team that is not enough. Mind you the team is not awash with captaincy candidates. Not even sure Trent is on a par with the Wests / Hanleys / Bells / Edwards / Farrell as a captain.

Spot on.

He doesnt really do the job of a loose forward. I think he must have taken 2 drives in. No linking up with the other players etc.

Never heard him speak once etc

he makes errors, misses tackles and gives penalties away. where does he lead by example? he and hock are the liabilities in the team, but both can be good when they play well.

we need someone who will step up and get the finger out, nobby can say thigns tot he players but on the pitch we need a leader and o'loughlin isnt a leader.

id say someone like higham, but he wont be on for the full 80, however he seems to be the only one capable of directing and he shows alot of emotion on the pitch.

Lockers tends to be our top tackler. Taking the ball up? Not sure many Wigan players get much opportunity to do so since we tend to lose it on the first or second tackle.

Truth be told. We have no outstanding captain candidate :(

I think we were hoping they would be, rather than saying they would.

Top tackler or not, Lockers just ain't good enough, as for Hock can he not wear some sort of sticky gloves (ala the sticky bandits in home alone 2) then maybe he wouldn't knock on as much, i would let both go elsewhere on a trade for players that actually give a fook :exc:

if you can find a qoute of mine were i say hock and o'loughlin are the savours last season, ill give thee a tenner.

hock was instrumental last season and played a big part in our survival, he was immense when he came back.
