You're getting it confused with the salary cap.

I don't see the problem with fielding weakened sides (not that this is really weakening their side significantly), it's the coaches perogotive to do his best for his side, his main target must be to win the cup.

What miffs be is they come out with the bull that Anderson will be fielding their strongest possible team. Why not have the guts to say we are resting key players for the final

:) Rob, if Salford beat Saints and eventually Hull Kr get relegated by 1pt I hope you do not come back and say I do not see what is wrong with fielding weakened teams. It damages the integrity of the competition. In the good old days it was against RL byelaws to field weakened teams. Would you like to sponsor SL knowing clubs field weakened teams?

And if taking their 2 props out is not weakening Cats then stick to refereeing

Both statements are true but there is a certain irony in being done for acting not in the "spirit of the game" and then seeing the relegation battle potentially decided by going against the principle of always fielding your best side.

I'll never understand why the RFL changed the bye-law to say you must field a team from your squad of SL registered players (or words to that effect).
