Forward Passes
Forward Passes
Re: Forward Passes
the pass was forward even ray french admitted that it was terrible I dont know quite how the touch judge missed it he had a clear view and you could see on the replay the passer was stood behind the 10 meter line when he passed it and the reciver was infront of the 10 meter line when he recieved it. forward pass!!!
Re: Forward Passes
It was definately forward and looked more blatent with every replay. But maybe unfair to suggest Rob would defend something so obvious. If it was borderline then maybe there is some truth in wrist angles, but not if the ball has travelled a matter of meters towards the opposition try line.

What you, and many people want is a rule change that states the ball has to be received at a point behind where the ball was released.
I can't comment on Saints second try as I've only seen it in real time at Wembley.

Re: Forward Passes
if the ball travels at more than 90 degrees to the touchline in the direction you are attacking it's a forward pass. physics and no bull
Re: Forward Passes
That's not necessarily the rule at the moment though.waterside glens posted:

Re: Forward Passes
The problem is i even think according to my definition of forward which I know is at odds with the mainstream that Moggs pass for Cats first try looked forward. :conf:

The problem is you've made up your own definition of forward pass.cpwigan posted:

Re: Forward Passes
I fully accept my definition is different Rob. However, by any definition Saints second try was a forward pass. By my definition so was Cats first try.

Re: Forward Passes
my definition is correct it's rfl thats wrong .Forward is forward or we'll end up like football with players that are offside being onside and then it's open to opinion.I mean if your on the pitch and your not "active" you'll not be playing in my team
