new rule for 20meter restart

Post by ste lord »

You can now kick it in touch as long as it bounces and be awarded the scrum,

Any thoughts????

Keep Wigan "Wigan"

With Pat's boot this could be an advantage.

It may lead to a lot more kicking. Is that good?

The new rule re ball stealing. Any coach worth his salt is going to tell his players to attack the ball rather than the man IMO.

Be a bit tricky to officiate to start off with (obstruction sts v huds ne1?) but a good rule, gives offence a chace to go up the pitch after 'potentially' awarding for good defence.

It'll be like RU next with the amount of kicking!!

We should not add any rules to our game. We should leave our game alone.

The vast majority of rule changes over the years have been good ones, IMO.

This will happen so rarely, it won't make much difference. Too much of a gamble, with the chance of losing possession if you fail (unlike a drop-out where you lose possession anyway). It will make a difference to the defence positioning though, as the wingers will need to stay back to defend against it.

Ten metre rule. More injuries. defending team effectively 1.5 metres further back. Impact props will be the name of the game. It will end up like grid iron. attack the line because the ball will be gone. Kickers like Briers get a full extra second to get the ball away. On the plus side it will be a Bradford v Wigan GF. HC :)
