Its in the Observer that Widnes are after Nicky Stanton on a months loan :conf:
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Nicky Stanton
I think he's a decent player. A months experience would do him good IMO. Not a bad thing.

Re: Nicky Stanton
Yes it did but he was away longer than a month and when it came to negotiating his contract he took a drop in salary so that he would not be let go on loan again, he wanted to play for his place at Wigan.pedro wrote:worked for Joel

Meanwhile, Wigan have denied speculation that Widnes Vikings have
opened negotiations to take teenage winger Nicky Stanton on loan to the
Halton Stadium.

Re: Nicky Stanton
i dont see us loaning out our youngsters a bad thing at all becuase its only a short term thing...
the guys need the experiance so when we do put them into the first team they can handle it and slot in with no worries at all...
its a good thing i think...

Re: Nicky Stanton
A BIG mistake would to let players go out on a loan similar to the deal that saw Danny Sculthorpe join Castleford, yet unable to rejoin us when serious injury problems occurred.

Re: Nicky Stanton
I think the issue with Danny Sculthope was we had to let him go because we could not afford his wages under the salary cap Cas took up his wage bill or part of it hence him signing for a seasons loan .He was still contracted to us and Wigan wanted him to come back the season after but he did not want to come back i think he had a years contract left and Wigan released him.butt monkey wrote:A BIG mistake would to let players go out on a loan similar to the deal that saw Danny Sculthorpe join Castleford, yet unable to rejoin us when serious injury problems occurred.
