So much for Lenagan letting Mick Higham "Play for his contract."
I'm surprised Mick doesn't just up an leave the way he's been treated.

This is interesting
“We are extremely grateful to the Parramatta Club who have agreed to release Mark one year early from his contract to take up this opportunity with Wiganâ€. No mention of compensation so it leaves us in a tricky position if we then try to get compo for releasing Baz

Re: Wigan get Riddell
A lot of Aussie players have releases written into their contracts along the lines of "can be released a year early to go play in the UK"
I don't think that Barrett had a similar cause.
If we've agreed to release Barrett then there is not much we can do about getting a transfer fee.

If you want to sign players like Riddell you can't wait around until the end of the seasonexile in Tiger country wrote:So much for Lenagan letting Mick Higham "Play for his contract."

Everything they do is so dramatic and flamboyant. It just makes me want to set myself on fire!
Re: Wigan get Riddell
From the looks of the picture on the official site; he's come to Wigan because of the pies!

Yep! He's not called "Piggy" for nothing!Matthew wrote:From the looks of the picture on the official site; he's come to Wigan because of the pies!
Re: Wigan get Riddell
Im not impressed. We have signed a player we didnt need to cover for. Highma will do as good of a job as Piggy. No way will he come on what Higham was on so as we need a playmaker and will have to spend big on 1 and a full back we have signed neither!
Re: Wigan get Riddell
Well Higham leaving is all but confirmed by IL
Lenagan said the Riddell signing was a key one for the club.
"He is exactly the type of hooker Wigan needs to lead our forwards and to further develop young Michael McIlorum," said Lenagan.
"Mark is a great character on the field who will go down very well with the Wigan fans and is looking forward to testing himself in the English Super League."
Riddell will move to the north of England in December.
