Huddersfield Giants will be making the most important announcement in the clubs modern day history at half time in Saturdays engage Super League match at the Galpharm Stadium between the Giants and Catalans Dragons (kick off 7-30pm). Such is the importance of the announcement that the club have made the match FREE ADMISSION TO ALL.
Giants chairman Ken Davy commented “There is no catch to this one off offer. Put simply I will be making an major announcement at the half time break which I expect to go down as probably the biggest announcement in the clubs modern day history. In order to ensure that as many people get the news first hand we are cancelling all admission charges and making the game free of charge for all.â€
No other Super League club has ever made such an offer and Davy expects it to be well received by the supporters:
“This news has already caused a stir in the club offices and I expect that effect to be multiplied many times over in the local community. It is such an important day for the club and one that I am extremely excited about. I would urge anyone with an interest in sport in the area to come along to the match and watch a great game and hear an announcement that they will never forget.â€
Supporters can gain FREE ADMISSION through the turnstiles on the day of the match. Vice Presidents who are looking to bring a guest need to apply to the Galpharm Stadium Ticket Office due to capacity restraints in this area. The Galpharm Ticket Hotline is 0870 44 44 552.
Looks like they are trying to increase the attendance figures!! Their support is terrible at home and even more so away they never need to open the north stand when the giants are the visitors at the JJB, I know Les Cats and Quins don't bring a lot of supporters but to say Huddersfield is the birthplace of our great game it leaves a lot to be desired that the support is so bad.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I agree. When you consider they are the closest of the Yorkshire teams it really is a disgrace that their away support is so poor. They've not even got the excuse of expensive ticket prices, given that we're still very well-priced compared to certain other clubs.
I wonder what this big announcement is going to be, maybe that they're losing all their competition points because of a salary cap breach so the free entry is to soften the blow?! (Note: that's just pure idle speculation based on nothing at all...)

We are, I believe, the cheapest in SL for away supporters, thats why it was brought up at the Fans Forum about ticket prices. We seem to pay over the odds at all the away games bar Quins when we have a deal if we play them twice away. The other clubs know we bring a massive away following so are always rubbing their grubby little hands when the Warriors are in town.

I would imagine that they have signed a new Aussie and want the world to know - Lockyer?
Given the club's performance in SL - the announcement doesn't have to be that big to be the biggest in their recent history!
It might be something totally ridiculous - like they are switching to union!?

Also - I bet their season ticket holders are pleased with this announcement!

Could be that they've signed their coach for next year - although he would have to be a pretty big hitter for it to the be "biggest" announcement in their recent history - Daniel Anderson?

I thought they had already announced Nathan Brown as coach for next year
It seems to me it must be good news, for them to be hyping it up like this, and it must be more than just a new player or coach signing, I'd have thought. They don't need a new ground, so it won't be that.
Any speculation amongst the Hudds fans on RLFans? I don't go there any more.
