In the light of last week's stadium fiasco, I happened to look at a Latics web site. I wish I hadn't. The bile directed against us was bitter and vicious and with a liberal use of post-watershed language (with no jokes, needless to say). They call us "chubbies" by the way, which I think they mean as a very strong insult - not obscene and presumably the best they could come up with. I was astonished at the abuse coming in our direction.
To give you a sense of the tone of the site generally, they had a topic about the paralympics which was so juvenile, tasteless and offensive it would take your breath away.
It was a truly dispiriting experience.
So much better to read the wit and wisdom on here...

Wigan RLFC once had an official forum. Wigan Athletic posters ruined that and go it killed by posting sick pornographic images etc. Nitsua who sometimes posts on here was around then and used to receive horrendous abuse.

I have also unwisely been on a Latics site , and I think that 95% of the posters on it are in their very early teens and struggling through puberty.
I personally have nothing against Latics, I do genuinely want them to do well ,but some of their "fans" are so bitter and twisted towards us that you do find yourself being dragged down to that level.
Far better to let them get on with abusing one another..........(probably in more ways than one)........

Can't believe it, just had a scan on a Latics site and decided to post a thread, their was nothing rude or naughty in this thread, so far it has had 6 replies, i tried to post another comment and found out i was banned, pathetic or what, talk about my thread being not that far from the truth

Can'r remember much of it Josie (still suffering from my Birthday ) but basicly, some one on RLfans is doing some investigation into how the JJB came into existance, who put money in etc etc, just mentioned about this and how they feel if it was proved that we actualy have more of a right in the stadium than they do etc etc, then as if by magic i was banned
