Lydon leaving?

Post by jayzn »

Lydon is supposedly off to Wales Rugby Union - but will he be missed? He has done very little/nothing since he came - it shows where his priorities lie - where the pennie$ are - not in supporting his hometown and former team! This now frees up room for a re-shuffle and make a new position for Mr Lam if rumours are to be believed!

It seems certain according to the Wigan Observer.

Will the 'butterfly' be missed? NO

He underachieved as a player, only utilising his wonderful natural talent when he saw fit or was forced to. Held in huge refgard by Wiganers, the sad thing is that week in week out Easter Suburbs saw the best of JL not Wigan RLFC or its fans.

Post playing? When has he stopped and developed/built anything. How many positions as he held? There are many high fliers who flit from job to job and never get called to answer. They leave that to others. Modern Day Management.

What did he achieve here? NOTHING? Great at the amusing one liners. Style over substance?

Not well liked or trusted by the players. Therefore not suited to his position.

Would be great. He has an outstanding reputation from his stint as reserve coach.

I would like to see Lam back at the club not sure what the job of performance director is seems like a phoney title to me but I would like to see Lam involved in the coaching side of things.

I always assumed it was sort of a director of football type position, kind of overlooking recruitment of players and coaches, making sure we had the necessary things in place for youth development/scouting etc. Don't see Lam with his limited coaching experience taking a role of such context but if we can have him back involved it would be a popular move and he is very talented at coaching level from what we have seen so far.

The advantage Lam has iscurrent NRL experience of how a RL club should operate. Let's face it the NRL are streets ahead of SL in player development.
