Wigan Wariors forward Lee Mossop has today joined Super League side Huddersfield Giants on a months loan.

Mossop had recently spent a month at Barrow Raiders but has now linked up with the Giants. The deal will allow Lee to gain first team experience.

Speaking last week, Head Coach Brian Noble said,

"For some of our players the Reserves is great but for some they need to play at a higher level and if that's the Championship or Super League we'll enable them to do that."

From the comments coming out of Barrow he had made a good impression and played really well. I did go up on Gud fri to watch him on his first game for them.

The only issue is will they play him in the first team every week? If not then he should stay at Barrow we he is assued of 1st team Rugby.

PnB trust me the loans were planned in advance of the Gleeson signing. 2 Months before Mick Hogsan stated they would be organising loans from April and beyond.

The wage Mossop is on isn't going to make much difference to any cap problems.


Don't suppose you want Fielden on loan to Wire, do you...? You'll need a replacement for Carvell for quite a few games, I'd guess, when the RFL give him a well-deserved holiday tomorrow.

correct if he is good enough for hudds,he should be good enough for us,the odd man out eould have to be baily,but that wont happen

why has he gone on loan to a team higher in the league than us,surely he should be pushing for a spot in our underperforming team.

He's not up to replacing any of our props yet, but give him another year or two and he will - hopefully around the time Fielden's contract expires.

Hudd's coach, Brown, indicated that this is a good move for Mossop, Hudd's and Wigan, in that he would make an immediate impact at Hudd's plus Wigan getting the benefit later of him having Superleague experience.
