Re: Sad news for BBC RL presenter

Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

Hope she makes a speedy recovery good luck with your treatment Clare. :)
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

remember somone wondering what she was wearing round her neck at wakefield. now we know what it was for. hope she gets well soon. i know some aren't keen on her but i like her presenting the game. she has genuine enthusiasm for it which i like. some think she asks a lot of questions and take that to mean she doesn't know what shes talking about but i think she does, and asks the questions to get the guests to explain themselves in a way that first time viewers would understand.

Will admit at first I thought why is she presenting rugby league, but have genuinely appreciated her enthusiasm for the game and her eagerness to learn from the guests that she gets to speak to.

I think this weekends coverage will miss her input - anyone know who is standing in?

Echo other's comments wishing her all the best for a speedy recovery, and a big well done for continuing in 'silence' up to now. God bless Clare.

Claire Balding, you are one of the bright lights for Rugby League on the BBC.
I hope all goes well for your treatment and wishing you a speedy recovery.

As a RL presenter she is totally useless and should stick to racing. However she seems a nice person and i hope she gets well soon

Agreed. The young lad they had replacing her seemed a lot more knowledgeable about the game.

Wish her well, though.

i don't like her presenting rugby league, but i don't want to see her battling this evil disease, fingers crossed she can beat it and come back with the same enthusiasm she has always had for her horse racing and rugby coverage

Dont agree with that OH.
Games I have seen with Clare Balding have been accurate and enthusiastic.
Thats not the point of this thread though, so I hope she recovers well.
