Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Did not attend today. The team has done very well in the latter part of the season. The match v Wakey will be a cracker. Wakey have a damn fine academy team. Their reserves are useless and I think they have already signed up 6 or 7 from their Academy Team to go full time.
Murphy has been great all season but my own Academy Player Of The Year would have been Sam Powell. Sam was given the boot by Wigan at 11, rarely if ever made Service Area teams etc and had to go it alone so to speak with Hindley then St Pats. Nobody signed him as a 16 year old so he carried on playing for Pats in the National Youth League U18s. He started this season as a non contract pay as you play player and has been brilliant match after match even getting the odd match for the reserves. He has now earned a contract at Wigan. If ever there was an example to other youngsters that are not heralded or lorded Sam Powell is that player.
