Can't hear you Gemma.....

What did you say ....
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Can't disagree with the sentiment and will be singing along with the best of them.
However, my children often accuse me of pedantry, so may I question the spelling? There's no doubt that we "were" the greatest team in the 80s and 90s, but surely that's not what we are saying?
Shouldn't it be "we are. . the greatest team" as in today, in which case it's "we're".
I'd like to think it's looking forward not back, so WE ARE the greatest team . . .
