Where have all the good songs gone...?

Post by C&WTID »

Brilliant, brilliant rugby! 12001 support-not too good :( but my request is for you clever little souls out there to come up with some super songs!! We are getting a rotation of 3 or 4 'same old' songs. We used to have a song (chant) for nearly every player. Pat was awesome last night yet no singing for him, yet if Feca makes a run everyone chants!! So come on lets get behind the TEAM-I know you lyricists can do it!! :D

Don't know if this would work without the brass section; but if you could get lots of people singing it; it would sound pretty uplifting!

To the tune of "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond as performed on channel 4's glee (because it's shorter):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9P8XIxC ... re=related

(if you play the song, you'll get a better idea of how it fits)

-----------------------------------------------

When it began, we can't begin to know when
But we know that we're growing strong

You came from the Storm
And you started something
We can't believe you came along

[Bridge - sort of]
Tries!
Scoring Tries!
Kicking Goals!
Beating KR!
Beating Wire!

[Chorus]
Michael Maguire (dah! dah! dah!)
Good times never seemed so good!
We're all inclined (dah! dah! dah!)
To believe they always would!
Michael Maguire (dah! dah! dah!)
Good times never seemed so good!
We're all inclined (dah! dah! dah!)
To believe they always would!

-----------------------------------------------

If we should manage to beat leeds and saints during his tenure; then the team names could be swapped in the bridge
"And Martin Offiah, trying to make some space, now then..." - Ray French, Wembley 1994
------------------------------------------------
Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

Think that is quite good Matthew, we need some song/hymn books to be printed with all the Wigan songs in and get a choir going in each stand
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
