dual registration

Post by markill »

anyone know the position on dual registration for the cup? i assume the same rules regarding a player being cup tied if they play for someone else would apply, but are dual reg players allowed to play at all in the cup? being that its the same competition as their parent/primary club are playing in? i just had a quick search on the net but found nothing to do with the cup

the main reason i ask is because i was thinking it'd be a big help for the panthers if holland and walker fronted up against whitehaven next week!

PLayers can be cup tied, as far as I'm aware we need to recall them prior to the round to prevent it.

Dual registered players are eligible to play in the Challenge Cup but once they have played for one club they cannot play for another in that seasons Challenge Cup.

The parent club will probably stipulate whether or not the receiving club can play the player in the Challenge Cup or alternatively can recall the player before Challenge Cup ties.

Yes I believe so. Alex Brown is at Batley and could have played for them in the cup, he is dual regged with Giants but they recalled him before Batley played in the Cup to prevent him being cup tied for them. I suppose it would depend on when the Dual reg deal was done, I guess if it was done now after NL clubs have already played in the cup they would be cuptied for them?

AFAIK, all our players, both loan & dual reg, have the condition that they can't play in the cup.

Certainly for the Haven duo:
The deal means that the pair can play for both the Warriors and Whitehaven at any time throughout the Season other than Challenge Cup games
and I'm pretty sure the other press releases said the same.

Definite. Dual loan do not play in cup games.
