Gareth Widdop?
i know we joke about getting Slater and Inglis etc while Melbourne have their problems but i think we should look at Widdop. he's understudy to the best full back in the world and we have the Maguire factor and the Wigan Factor on our side.
so what do you think. would you like to see Widdop here or keep Phelps at full back or put Amos there when he's back?

How many times have you seen him play? How many NRL games has he played?THE 18th Man wrote:i know we joke about getting Slater and Inglis etc while Melbourne have their problems but i think we should look at Widdop. he's understudy to the best full back in the world and we have the Maguire factor and the Wigan Factor on our side.

Widdop has been hyped out of all proportion by many who havent even seen him play or by people that have seen a few grainy internet clips. How do you know he is even better than our own young players?

Re: Gareth Widdop?
he is young, English, bags of potenial and been learning from the best in the world, won the Melbourne Storm Acadamy Player award last year and has rave reviews from Australia and all i did was suggest would be people be interested in him coming to Wigan. i would prefer to keep Amos at full back but with Melbourne having a couple of problems we can afford to look at some NRL players with some of our players contracts ending this year.

I like Widdop but Amos at FB
Re: Gareth Widdop?
Apparently Gareth wants to play for Wigan but his agent is probably going to use the hype about him to demand a big wage and is he really worth it when he is not a proven performer.
He will end up at Warrington anyway with their elastic salary cap.

Amos.
As has been already stated - I would think that he would go to Warrington (along with most of the Storm side)

Widdop is a Bradford Bulls fan, and they would be his preference should he come back to play in England.MrDave wrote:Apparently Gareth wants to play for Wigan but his agent is probably going to use the hype about him to demand a big wage and is he really worth it when he is not a proven performer.

I think he should stay in the NRL and We(England)should call him up when we play the Aussies.
