Storm must sell players
http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/leag ... -tq7k.html
'SHATTERED Storm players were last night told by News Ltd boss John Hartigan that several would have to leave the club to enable Melbourne to comply with the salary cap next season, sparking a likely bidding war for the Storm's four biggest names - Greg Inglis, Cameron Smith, Billy Slater and Cooper Cronk.'
any chance of cooper cronk? their was an article earlier this week, stating that some players would not want to play against. So perhaphs a move to super league is on the cards and with maguire with coach would we be first choice?
if not Cooper Cronk maybe Brett Finch?

Im sure Warrington are having an eye of Slater and Cronk... maybe Inglis if he can squeeze under.

Re: Storm must sell players
A couple of thoughts on all of this.
Inglis is a fantastic Centre, come Stand-Off, and fast enough to play on the Wing or at Full-Back.
He would be the ideal all round player, but would he have the mental strength to move away from Australia to give it a decent stint in Britain.
He knows his ability would bring along a massive salary, and with that comes the salary cap implications.
Do we have room within our salary cap to seriously think about bringing in the Inglis's, Slater's, Cameron smith's.

I'm sure you're right it's just that I'm a total ignoramous when it comes to NRL players.

Salary cap apart, I don't think the players you mention would come, because it means them losing their international places.Panchitta Marra wrote:A couple of thoughts on all of this.

Because he would complement Sam,who is a left sided player,Cronk is right sided.
Re: Storm must sell players
AS PW states he is a righty and Sam is a left so they are an ideal match. He also has a fantastic kicking game and play like a general directing his team in the Melbourne way which is becoming our way I presume given Madge.Kiwiseddon wrote:Why would he be perfect CP?cpwigan wrote:Cronk would be perfect

Billy Slater described Cronk recently as the most professional/hard working of all the Melbourne players bar none so incl the likes of Inglis, SLater and Smith.
